EDIT: Oh, come on. I can't hate something that has both my favorite Doctor, and my former favorites schway car...that's cheating.

EDIT #2: The Destroyer looked a lot more intimidating in silhouette.

EDIT #3: Shoot the world destroying beast, survive the explosion, dust off and say you're going home...God, that man was badass.

Just finished Talons of Weng-Chiang for the first time. Amazing serial. Might be my favorite so far in all of Classic Who. The script is just perfect.

I found it kind of overrated but maybe I need to watch it again. But then again, I think Caves of Androzani is overrated and Paradise Towers is underrated so what do I know.

Just finished Talons of Weng-Chiang for the first time. Amazing serial. Might be my favorite so far in all of Classic Who. The script is just perfect.

I always hear that one is kinda racist...and by always, I mean from this dude once.

It's a bit heavy-handed in its portrayal of early Chinese immigrants and sort of paints them all with the same brush, but I didn't find anything about it too offensive. And I'm normally sensitive to that kind of thing. I mean, the primary Chinese villain ends up helping the Doctor in the end.

Are you referring to The Satan Pit? My brother was beside me when I was watching that episode for the first time. Because he's a Christian he was all like "Satan can't be killed, and certainly not by a Time Lord."

The Daemons? It had its moments, but I was bored throughout much of that one too, definitely not one of my Three favorites.

Once I finish my Classic Who journey (currently on Season 15 after 10 months), I should go through and rank my favorite few serials with each Doctor. But off the top of my head right now, a few of my favorites with Pertwee were Inferno, Frontier In Space, Curse of Peladon and Death To The Daleks. I'm probably forgetting some, but I did really like those. Oh, and The Green Death because of Jo's departure.

I've been thinking: Davros is some crazy genius, who can make a whole Dalek army out of his own cells. So why doesn't he make himself a new body? One that doesn't look like a cyborg potato in a wheelchair?

Also, he does consider the Daleks the pinnacle of evolution, and he values evolution over all else, so he probably just wants to be as similar to them as possible.

I only watched some of the Twelfth Doctor's, so I got no opinion. That said, I watched the ninth, tenth and eleventh doctors... which leads me to a question.

When I was watching the scene of Amy and Rory's wedding, and the Doctor calls him "Mr. Pond," I am wondering if it is traditional for Time Lords to adopt the last name of the Time Lady if they marry.

Sure, he tends to act subordinate to Amy. But generally a pushover? Hell no. The man punched the Doctor for God's sake.
