I remember first hearing this. I don't think I even knew who Mozart was, but I knew I loved the music.



Wagner really picked the perfect subject to put his talents to. It is very difficult to imagine the accompanying music of the Ring Cycle to be anything less than the stuff of epic poems.

I'm rather fond of the way Haydn can make a theme profoundly dramatic one moment, and the next turn it into a lighthearted tune, all the while being congruent enough to make the transition pleasing.
