Your Favorite Disaster Movie

Postby Vandelstein » Fri Aug 02, 2013 9:07 am

So far, I've probably watch more than 40-50 disaster movies. These are just a few of them (I missed some). It's kinda difficult which one to pick so here's my top 5.

1. The Poseidon Adventure/Titanic/Earthquake
2. Haeundae/The Sinking of Japan
3. Independence Day/Armageddon/Deep Impact
4. Flood/The Day After Tomorrow
5. Dante's Peak/Daylight

Of the few I've seen 2012 is the best one. A very well-made movie.

I enjoyed Titanic, though I'm not sure why they needed to add a human villain. I felt the iceberg was a strong enough antagonist. It's definitely better than the animated Titanic movies.

2012 sucked. They tried to make a big budget movie with a plot more suitable for a low-budget B-movie. It was less peanut butter and chocolate and more ketchup and ice cream. Please don't remove B-movie plots from their native B-movie habitats.

Who needs a plot when you can just enjoy the quality CGI and graphics? :p
