Personally I've played with the D20 system a lot, the 3.5 D&D series, a little 4.0, played with Rifts some, and worked with the D6 system (which is free btw at drivethrurpg.com). I've DM/GM for a while, and personally prefer running to playing as weird as that sounds.

Though I've tried out different systems in the form of the Cortex system for the Serenity RPG, 40K RPG Rogue Trader, World of Darkness and the Iron Kingdoms RPG.
Currently running a Kickstarter to fund a RPG book I'm working on for the Savage Worlds system, I'll TG links if people are interested.

The vehicle combat system is very clumsy in my opinion, i've practically got more house rules to cover it than the book gives for actual rules. Its hard to find D20 modern campaigns, in my experience most RPG groups want The Lord of the Rings treatment rather than anything else. The gaming club at my school is basically "no dragons, no game", my post-apocalyptic campaign is the exception rather than the rule.

lol, ikr. everytime i play D&D i play 3 characters and the DM plays the enemies and some characters to take the pressure off of me a bit, but its a pain only playing with 2 people.

If you live near a comic book store, I'd check there. My nearest comic book store has D&D nights every Friday and Saturday, and they do magic the gathering stuff on Sunday (I don't play MtG, but still its nice they offer). A lot of comic book stores have similar set ups, but I understand if you don't live nearby a store or have a problem with getting to one, that would be a lot more difficult.

Guess I'm lucky that gamers where I am have a much broader interest, though depends how you pitch the game.
I mean I've had much greater interest when I've run one-shots based upon Fallout.

Thats pretty much how I pitched it, but my problem was that I was new to the gaming group (though not a new player, the club president's brother taught me how to play D&D when I was 13 years ago) and they had narrow interests at the time. Luckily I put together a regular group and its run well ever since.

Fair 'nuff.
Presently I'm having a go at getting started as a RPG writer, so you may see my stuff in shops some point in the future.

huh I wrote a long module that all my campaigns have taken place in with an entire detailed history and rules and a complete list of adventures. Wonder if I should put that online... Maybe later, work in progress I suppose. Im not cheapening your job by saying I could do it, but I wouldn't mind putting it out for free or even making a little cash on the side haha
