-Played a ton of Medieval total war. Everything about that was fun and not once did I think "oh no not another chore" like some of the recent games i've tried out.

-While I would mention Minecraft I still don't consider it out of beta phase yet. The villagers still look like alien monsters. Hell the zombies look more friendly than those squidwards do.
But the basic sandbox do whatever the hell you want is just superb. I'm a sucker for just going nuts, I know you're surprised right?

-Fallout New Vegas, it falls just shy of my top favourite game. Not because of any particularly big thing, but it's a few little bugs here and there. Little nitpicky things that kinda get on my nerves now and again. But the story is great and the gameplay is fantastic. I recommend trying out the mods "FOOK" and "Project Nevada" if you've ever enjoyed it.
The only reason I'm not playing it atm is I got caught up with a whole bunch of other games on the steam sale

-Mount and Blade Warband deserves a mention too, I spent ages in that. But I don't think I could play it again without installing another mod for it and I can't be bothered doing that.
The basic gameplay idea of commanding some medieval unit just appeals to the little murderous boy in my head.

-Dungeons of Dredmor a little roguelike i've taken a shine to over the past year or so. I've never really tried playing roguelikes before but this one is great fun.

That's a tough one to beat I played the hell out of that. Maybe it's just the rose tinted glasses but I think I had some of the most fun playing that game out of any other. The idea of just going nuts and throwing caution to the wind is a sweet one.

My favourite video game is still Metroid Prime for the Nintendo Gamecube...

Damn what a beautiful game, I even recognized that as a kid...
And so it was, that I had never changed.

Star Wars: Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight.

A total gem from 1997. Utterly wonderful little game. It defined my childhood.
