Okay, if they ever do an anime style MLP, they should get Inuhoshi to Darkpen to draw it. NO EXCEPTION!

If they did an episode with ponies like that I would have so many simultaneous heart attacks that all of Europe and the east coast of North America would be destroyed.

To be fair, the Mane Six (and the other main characters, for that matter) were implied to be in their senior year, which does, in fact, have 18-year-olds (I was one). You're probably safe.

Oh. Okay. Totes cool then I guess. Which reminds me.

Regarding the ages of the mane six (ponyville), I'd have to say...

Dash/Pinkie: 18-19
Twilight/Flutters: 19-20
AJ/Rarity: 20-21 (22?)

Mostly due to their responsibilities, how they react to stuff, what they do in general, and how they carry themselves.

And that's at Season 1. Who knows how many years it's been now. Two, three?

I can accept this headcanon.

Right around where I'd estimate. It's tempting to push their ages back a bit in order to make them in line with the target audience, but considering that all but two of them are confirmed to have their own residences, and that at least half of them (Pinkie, AJ, Rarity) do have conventional jobs, the baseline age would be unlikely to be any lower than 17-18.

Dash has a job too. At least, I would assume that making the weather happen is a formal job and not just something local ponies do for the craic. No idea where Fluttershy gets her money. Modelling royalties, I guess. Or maybe she's a pool shark.

Ceffyltir wrote:

Now this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the princess of a town called Bel Mare

In west Fillydelphia, born and raised
In the library was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all readin' some books outside of the school
When a jealous unicorn who was up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little duel and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your mentor and her sister in Bel Mare'

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed the chariot and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket
I pulled out my books and said, 'I might as well kick it'.

First class, yo this is bad
Drinking hot sauce out of a champagne glass
Is this what the people of Bel-Mare living like?
Hmm this might be alright

But wait I hear they're prissy, bourgeois, all that
Is this the type of place that they just send this cool cat?
I don't think so
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the princess of Bel-Mare

Well, the chariot landed and when I came out
There was a colt who looked like a guard standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested yet
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like magic, disappeared

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought 'Nah, forget it' - 'Yo, homes to Bel Mare'

I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my queendom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Princess of Bel Mare

ALL OF MY MONEY

Why would you make me feel these feels?!

Yea, I agree with those lines as well. I also take the line that there's no Lunar Republic, there's only Luna. There's only Celestia & Luna, two Royal Sisters who love each other.

Yes. Celestia loves her sister and her subjects; it just so happens that sometimes that love takes the form of a little chuckle at their expense. But it's just elder-sisterly ribbing, it's not like she's some sort of psychopath. Besides, the way she takes to Nightmare Night, Luna probably has a similar sense of humor.

I really wish the fandom would do a more...realistic approach to Celestia & Luna's relationship with each other than the whole Solar Empire/Lunar Republic crap. I also wish they'd do work that would exemplify the good qualities and characteristic of both royal sisters.

Instead what we get is that Celestia is a troll, tyrant, etc. and Luna is an always sad pony who can't get over her troubled past. C'mon bronies, the Royal Sisters are not that one dimensional!

Huh? Haven't seen much progress when it comes to the Royal Sisters from the fandom TBH. They seem to be stuck on their Season 1 impression of both Celestia and Luna.

Exactly. Celestia is no tyrant, the ponies love and respect her as their monarch. Luna has put her past behind her, because her sister has forgave her. I find the Solar Empire vs Lunar Republic to be a petty fan war. I hate fan wars; we all like the same show, after all. Why can't we can't get along? The show that we like has "Friendship" in the title.
