The Royal Sisters
Okay, if they ever do an anime style MLP, they should get Inuhoshi to Darkpen to draw it. NO EXCEPTION!

Speaking of dancing, I present...
...Miss New Booty.

To be fair, the Mane Six (and the other main characters, for that matter) were implied to be in their senior year, which does, in fact, have 18-year-olds (I was one). You're probably safe.
Oh. Okay. Totes cool then I guess. Which reminds me.
Regarding the ages of the mane six (ponyville), I'd have to say...
Dash/Pinkie: 18-19
Twilight/Flutters: 19-20
AJ/Rarity: 20-21 (22?)
Mostly due to their responsibilities, how they react to stuff, what they do in general, and how they carry themselves.
And that's at Season 1. Who knows how many years it's been now. Two, three?

Right around where I'd estimate. It's tempting to push their ages back a bit in order to make them in line with the target audience, but considering that all but two of them are confirmed to have their own residences, and that at least half of them (Pinkie, AJ, Rarity) do have conventional jobs, the baseline age would be unlikely to be any lower than 17-18.

My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the princess of a town called Bel Mare
In west Fillydelphia, born and raised
In the library was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all readin' some books outside of the school
When a jealous unicorn who was up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little duel and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your mentor and her sister in Bel Mare'
I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed the chariot and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket
I pulled out my books and said, 'I might as well kick it'.
First class, yo this is bad
Drinking hot sauce out of a champagne glass
Is this what the people of Bel-Mare living like?
Hmm this might be alright
But wait I hear they're prissy, bourgeois, all that
Is this the type of place that they just send this cool cat?
I don't think so
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the princess of Bel-Mare
Well, the chariot landed and when I came out
There was a colt who looked like a guard standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested yet
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like magic, disappeared
I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought 'Nah, forget it' - 'Yo, homes to Bel Mare'
I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my queendom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Princess of Bel Mare

I really wish the fandom would do a more...realistic approach to Celestia & Luna's relationship with each other than the whole Solar Empire/Lunar Republic crap. I also wish they'd do work that would exemplify the good qualities and characteristic of both royal sisters.
Instead what we get is that Celestia is a troll, tyrant, etc. and Luna is an always sad pony who can't get over her troubled past. C'mon bronies, the Royal Sisters are not that one dimensional!

You do realize that Progress is also part of the fandom right?
