Also, what is happening now? We have like 5 threads about Pokemon.

Which are more powerful is not the same debate as which is better. Pokemon is an infinitely better franchise, but digimon would probably win if the two universes got merged and went to war.

Television-wise Pokemon has 0 plot (move there, fight that, move there, fight that is not a plot, we're blasting off again!). It barely has characters. Digimon wins both very clearly.*
I haven't played any of the games (virtual or physical**), but I am inclined to believe people when they prefer the Pokemon ones. It is also, clearly, more successful as a franchise.
*Even if you have to decide that Devimon is aware of the potential of Digivices and this is why he scatters the Digi-destined rather than killing them when he's got them plucked and ready for the pot. If I didn't remember some surprise when Tai got away, I'd believe this because for the "starter" villain he certainly knows what is going on.
*Pokemon Crater aside... which I guess kinda counts.

Because Pokemon are realistic?
There is nothing about either of them that's realistic. Mass and energy from nowhere. Oh, wait, Digimon don't live inside pokeballs, Digimon tend to be unable to function without food and possibly draw power from a digital world. If there's a realism battle, Digimon very easily win.
But, really, Pokemon are incredibly stupid (most can't even talk), generally less powerful and capable of being bundled up into Pokeballs that a great many Digimon would be able to (a) obtain and (b) wield.
This is about as one-sided as Batman versus Ironman.
