1) Yeah, and? The GE isn't exactly short on resources. 2) Droids are capable of acting on their own, and more depending on which model we're using.

Because containment worked so well for the god like forerunners. Notice how they created a device to destroy life instead of the flood.

The immediate result consists of panic and running into each other confused.Wisconsin9 wrote:Galnius wrote:That would need more energy to produce and maintain. That, and if a leader falls, they go crazy.
There are tens of millions of worlds under some form of Imperial control, so unless the Flood can get all of the production worlds and space stations, the droids can still be produced. And no, they don't go crazy, they replace it like every other army at every other point in history does.

It worked 100%? You cannot cure parasites or viruses. They mutate to compensate. That is why vaccines occasionally fail as well.

Yes. But the flood NEVER WON. They lost in the middle of 2 seperate civil wars, one where the forerunners lost their military leader Mendicant Bias (who turned against them, which caused them to become desperate enough to use the rings), and again during the covenant-human war when there were three factions actively trying to fight. And the Flood, despite having the best chance in 100,000 years, AND A GRAVEMIND, lost. Against a unified galaxy where even maintenance droids are capable of complex learning and possess complex psychologies and can be armed to the teeth, where every planet can afford a planetary shield that blocks physical objects (the rebels could afford one), where no imperial blockade has ever failed, where blockades are more than possible even by trading companies, even against intelligent parasites (see chorus IV), where zombies HAVE been ecnountered (see Rakghouls), where there exists a totalitarian state that uses planet killing WMD's with utter impunity, and where their soldiers do not break ranks or panic (when do you see stormtroopers say "fuck this noise" and run? never.), where they were already planning for a galactic invasion, the flood could not possibly be expected to win.

And don't forget during the Human-Flood War, where humans were fighting on two fronts and internally, and still beat the shit out of them.

Yes but Ancient Humanity was a Tier 1 civilization. I'd say the GE is a high Tier 2, but I still think that's enough to beat the Flood.
The Covenant, who are Tier 2, were able to keep the Flood on Delta Halo for a while during a civil war. I'm sure a unified GE would fare far better.

Notice how you said for a while. There is also no proof some flood did not escape either.

The GE is vastly more advanced then Ancient Humanity, or anything from Halo except for the Precursors.

Not even close.
The Flood is a parasite, not a super human. The Flood is more than 4000 years old. The Flood is not summoned, it arrives when it wants to.
The Flood is in no way even close to Krodin, at least from what wikipedia says.
