Look man, I love the Halo franchise more than Star Wars. However, in a GE vs UNSC/Covenant/Flood alliance fight... the GE wins.

If the Covenant can quarantine outbreaks by glassing a planet, the GE can do it better with the Death Star. Sure, the whole planet is gone but if the Flood is on it it will most likely be lost anyways.

Not even the Death Star is necessary. One Star Destroyer can glass a planet entirely in less than a day.

Bullshit.

The HALO rings dont even kill the flood, just every other life in the universe. The only way to stop the flood is total suicide. Quarantines and terra annihilation do not cut it.

Ancient Humanity managed to hold off the Flood long enough for it to back off.

If the Flood went up against the GE, the GE could hold it off long enough for the Flood to back away.

Why? Because the Flood is a test for the mantle, which the GE could prove worthy of if they hold off the Flood long enough.

The quarantines and planetary annihilation are to kill off the food source, in turn killing the Flood. Which is still killing them.

In the end, life from both places would lose all together. This is due to the fact that the univers would be void of non flood life and they would starve to death.

This does pose an interesting question...

If a force user was infected, could the Flood "tap" into the force?

Bullshit.

By my count the flood have been defeated THREE TIMES in three wars. Once by the Humans (ancient). Once by the forerunners. And once by the humans/covenant seperatists. The flood have NEVER won a war (though their war with forerunners cost the forerunners their lives, they ultimately ended the floods onslaught). The flood cannot be called invincible if they fall every damn time, including to a foe much weaker than the forerunners. Their every attempt is met with failure. Halo 1: failure. Halo Wars: Failure. Halo 2: slight success, found ships. Halo 3: utter failure.

On the otherhand, the Sith keep on giving, and Palpatine's Empire never really fell. After his death it became the Imperial remnant, which eventually settled the Galactic Civil War with a truce with the New Republic (rebel alliance gov't). When the Yuuzhan Vong war came, the Imperial forces NEVER fell and were in fact prepared for an extragalactic invasion (which they knew about ahead of time). They always maintained their borders, unlike the New Republic which burned (the imperial remnant saved the Rebels ass hard, as they brought star destroyers and a super stardestroyer into the fray). Even with Darth Krayt's reign in the legacy series, the imperial remnant had renamed itself the Fel empire, and STILL STOOD. The empire is thus much like the Roman Empire. It may have contracted to the Byzantine empire, but it didn't fall. And its legacy never ended.

With all due respect, this is an idiotic statement. The Forerunners had to use the Halo arrays because they weren't able to either find a cure or to contain them. Both are things the Empire is capable of. The Flood would be annihilated, the Covenant would be annihilated, the UNSC would be annihilated.

The problem with that is that some would get off the planet.

The Covenant managed to keep the Flood on Delta Halo during a CIVIL WAR.

Now imagine the GE. They are unified, and have better technology than the Covenant. I think they can keep the Flood in check.

A defeat would be an extinction. If you can prove to me that the flood would be UNDOUBTEDLY annihilated, I will surrender. The covenant and UNSC would fall first, then everything else.

The UNSC and Covenant would fall. The Empire would sit back and laugh as the Flood throw themselves against them and die each time they try.

Force-sensitives are incredibly rare. See, they have these things called "sensors"...

The GE probably has enough ships to block most of the escape routes. With a foe like the Flood, I doubt the GE will go easy on them.

And that's probably why the GE would do so well against them. They'd take them seriously, and actually have the tech to deal with them.

You realize the force is not an infinite sheild right? Using it requires energy, as does all other sheilds.

The Empire is not reliant on the Force. They have technology they use much more often, because Force-sensitives are maybe one in a few trillion.

Problem. first encounter. How do you think they took all the other races off gaurd? Sensing a disturbance in the force only tells you there is a disturbance.

Among the millions of worlds the GE controls... first contact might only take away a small percentage before the GE can establish a fairly decent quarantine.

Which is why I said ALL OTHER SHEILDS. They require energy, requiring natural resources to power it. No one would be able to leave leaving a highly limited number of resources. Without knowing oit, the flood blockades their targets.

That would need more energy to produce and maintain. That, and if a leader falls, they go crazy.

There are tens of millions of worlds under some form of Imperial control, so unless the Flood can get all of the production worlds and space stations, the droids can still be produced. And no, they don't go crazy, they replace it like every other army at every other point in history does.

Because containment worked so well for the god like forerunners. Notice how they created a device to destroy life instead of the flood.
