Watch the OVA for the Higurashi series and you'll, perhaps, see what I mean about too much ''moe''.

She's more or less where I am on the series: despite the insane abuse of jiggle physics and camera angles designed to focus on characters' naughty bits, despite the xeroxed plot scenarios, despite the same boring zombie apocalypse moral/social questions and answers being rehashed again, I somehow ended up liking it anyway.
It's probably mostly because Highschool of the Dead has managed to be hilariously bad rather than too bad to be watchable. The show is almost like a parody of oversexed anime, as if the point wasn't pandering to the lowest common denominator, but rather to make fun of it. Oh, you like jiggling boobs the size of deployed airbags? Here, let's safely fire a round between the jiggle waves at a target while we're at it. It's entirely possible to watch Highschool of the Dead as a caricature of ecchi, to conclude that the show is so bad that it's accidentally brilliant.

Clannad is one of the best series I have ever seen. I watched it right after Kanon, and both shows still hold some of my favorite scenes, characters, and feel-good moments.
