Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters

The whole series is twisted, but I have to admit that Maximilion Pegasus is an awesome villain.

I know it's probably common art style.

But on my rerun of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann I noticed that in certain scenes it's artstyle reminded me greatly of nineties Moomin series. Then I couldn't help but imagine Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann with moomin characters replacings humans (and possbily beastmen).

I think it's just different. Which is good. One can get tired of mechs, magical girls, and end of the world scenarios too. Princess Jellyfish is neither of those.

Yeah, Death Note makes dramatic experiences of writing and eating chips. And making phone calls. And riding the bus. And watching TV. And...

The second opening fits the show better, imo.

In the lyrical sense I agree, however I don't like the song's instrumentals. Not my cup of tea.

Think of it like this, Deathnote's second half takes a huge fucking nose-dive in quality, and for the entire second half you have this loud screaming following you all the way down.

Pure brilliance.

Yeah, now that I think about it, that does make sense.

Anyways,
Just watched the episode where L died. Have to say, I'm actually saddened by his death. I loved his character, plus the English VA was perfect for the role imo.

It was okay, if you only include the first half, of course (since the second arc of the season was pretty bad), part of the reason (maybe better to say most, if not the entire reason, but I haven't read Alfheim's LN form yet, so that would be me jumping to conclusions) is A-1 is a terrible company and the LNs are much better than the anime adaption.

S'Alright. Personally thought that apart from the obvious benefit of the soundtrack and animation, the novels did a better job.
And there's a sequel, just so you know.

A-1's adaptation of the Phantom Bullet arc is surprisingly....stellar. Pretty faithful, and the animation has improved and the OST is still great of course. Naturally the novels are better, but seeing a good adaptation is gratifying. My only problem is the excessive fanservice. They're apparently adapting the Mothers Rosario arc too, so I'm curious as to how they'll do with it-was one of the top two in the LN's, after all. And there will certainly be a season 3 , Alicization, best arc, whoop. Though given it's length there'll probably have to be a season 4 as well. Maybe even 5.
