In other words — and this is the rock solid principle on which the whole of the Corporation's Galaxy-wide success is founded — their fundamental design flaws are completely hidden by their superficial design flaws.

The TV series has better production values than the movie, but assumes you've played the VN, so some story elements aren't explained. On the other hand, the movie does a better job of telling the story, but isn't as well animated and pares down the cast considerably.

I've seen gameplay footage of the School Days visual novel...

The fuck is that game supposed to be, anyway?

It was nothing like Katawa Shoujo.

It's like an interactive anime or somethin'.

I'd play these visual novels if I could get ahold of them.

I'm still trying to get the Fate/Stay Night VN.

I didn't even know those existed.

Hell, I've heard School Days is terrible but it's the only other visual novel I've heard of.

Really? A lot of animes are based on VNs.

Some really stand out because there's that "multiple love interests" angle.

I'm kinda disappointed there was never an anime for Madou Souhei Kleinhasa. It could have worked even if they hadn't gone the ero anime route.

As for Knox's list, those are probably the best anime based on VNs. There are several others, but... Sturgeon's Law and all.

Just finished Steins; Gate

give it a 8.3/10

I would recommend it to anybody who has the patience to sit through a few explanation episodes at the start.
