There's plenty of non-scene kid music today.

Of course, you could also argue for the 2000's-2010's, as now we have easy access to most music, and there's a revival in metal popping up (Evile, Gama Bomb, Amon Amarth, etc.)

there has never really been a period since its inception where metal stopped being produced.

slayer and metallica are still making albums, even.[/quote]

I wrote that wrong. XD, I know metal hasn't stopped being produced.
I'm not going to be that guy that says all modern metal is crap produced by posers, but I do believe most bands were releasing better albums back in the 80's. For example, I honestly don't like Death Magnetic too much. I like God Hates Us All by Slayer (it's actually one of my favorite albums by them), and I like Endgame by Megadeth. However, compared to these, I believe AJFA/Master of Puppets/Ride The Lightning/Kill Em' All were better than DM, Reign in Blood and Seasons in the Abyss were better than GHUA, and Countdown to Extinction, Rust in Peace, Youthanasia, and Killing is my Business were better than Endgame.

But like I said, you could argue either way.

The 1965-1975. I love 70s music, I love 60s music. Thus, the 50/50 split.
