Oh, you're on shaky ground there, Tarsonis. At least Crysuko doesn't constantly bring up military service during nerd fights like it backs his point up.

Kinda proving my point there
Your point is flawed. Just rolling over and accepting TV like this, stuff that just panders to the lowest common denominator and provides nothing of substance, is why TV is a wasteland. Especially when they take a respectable franchise like Star Trek and do this to it.

1. So they said when TNG Started, and when DS9 started, and when Voyager, and Enterprise, and TAS 2. and Disco and Picard.
3. Granted Lower decks is the farthest deviation, but the flaw in is that your criteria is subject entirely to your own opinion. Having broad appeal doesn't make something bad, and having niche appeal doesn't make something good.

A. This appeals to me.
B. This is why it appeals to me.
Logical statement is logical.
You seem to think I was laying down gospel when I was just laying out why I find something appealing. What you can't seem to wrap your mind around is that while I fully respect that you don't like it, at as a matter of your personal preference, but you don't respect that I do. Not only do you not like it, you look down on, and antagonize people who do. Keep that in mind the next time you cry victim.

Interesting but unrealistic. When you only have 3 shuttles and those shuttles only hold 7 people, your crew are going to be premium. But Starfleet doesn't operate like the shuttle program. I think a closer analogy is the US Navy, And there the spectrum is a lot broader.

starfleet isn't comparable to a modern navy. it's methods and operations are so different it's like comparing a 3 tiered wedding cake to a slice of bread

it's the boy who cried wolf, isn't it? except the wolf is mass produced lowest common denominator mediocrity.

Also the fact that Starfleet isn't a military, it's a multi-faceted organization that can act as many things at once, including an exploratory, diplomatic, and scientific, etc... force.

See point above.
No, I don't care if you like it or not. I've disagreed with points made and offered a different assessment. To which you decided to pretty much all but call me stupid for liking it, and then cry victim when it was suggested thst theres an unsafe relation in the space between your head and your posterior

Starfleet's job first and foremost is exploration/diplomacy and scientific research. We don't have any service in this day and age that's comparable to Starfleet.
