After a balls out, 2 season spanning war full of interesting characters and great episodes. Babylon 5 offered up nothing near as awesome before it just petered out. I can't believe people compare these shows. DS9 blows this show away.

Babylon 5 is better and im a huge fan of both shows, dont @ me

The reason the shadow war ends the way it does, the reason why the human civil war feels off and why the last season is weak is because they didnt think they were gona get a fifth season, so they rushed to try and end the show and complete the main story arcs, then after they did most of it, they got a fifth season and had to scramble more stuff.

Not an excuse, its called a fact.

That is why shit ends the way it does and why the last season aint great. Ive said this before on this thread too from what i remember.

Im not saying that is why i think the show better, i just like the show more than DS9 and i rate DS9 very highly.

Excuse and fact are not mutually exclusive. Doesn’t matter if what you say is true, it doesn’t magically make the show better.

I didnt say that anywhere. I simply said that is why the show is the way it is in its later seasons (which i said are worse by the way).

Personally for me ive always liked the show more because i think its a better show overall, not because of those reasons that i listed, nor do those reasons somehow magically make it better. Those reasons are there purely to explain why the later seasons of the show are in the state they are.

Im not repeating myself again.

I dont mean to sound hostile or anything by the way, sorry.

Well it would have ended eventually, the only difference being that Cardassia Prime would have been turned into a mass grave for not only Cardassian civilians but for the Federation and Klingon forces also. Also, the Founders would have likely all died out if Dr. Bashir had failed to help Odo, and the war would have ended that way; even though it's impossible to say how long it would have been before they all turned into one gigantic pile of ash. But from the moment that the Great Link got the dreaded lergy, the Dominion had already lost.

A loss yes, but as the female founder made it clear, when all was said in done victory would taste as bitter as defeat.

And while cardassia prime would have been leveled, the fleets would be so devastated that they’d be unable to withstand the next incursion from the gamma quadrant, which the dominion was surely plotting.

That's one thing that bothered me: to my knowledge it's never really explained why the Dominion doesn't just send ships through the wormhole once the minefield of self-replicating mines is destroyed. Sure, the Prophets could just destroy every Dominion ship that ever enters the wormhole after Sisko strikes a deal with the Prophets to destroy the reinforcement fleet. But based on what the Prophets say, of extracting a penance from Sisko for destroying the Dominion fleet for him, it makes it sound like they'd only do it that one time and not repeatedly. It just seemed like a bit of a plot hole to me.

According to memalpha, the fleet wasn’t destroyed just sent forward in time. (Yeah that’s right Bathesda, ST did it before it was cool), which will be very interesting when they suddenly turn up

Or that the Dominion just didn't want to try again. Especially since once they had the ability to clone and construct set up in Cardassian space it's not a priority.

Favorite Star Trek Characters

Postby The Knights who say Neee » Wed Oct 09, 2019 3:18 am

My favorite Star Trek series characters include:

1) L'Waxana Troi. Majel Barrett was a hoot playing her! Next Gen + DS9
2) Q -- When at his best a fantastic fun frolic
3) Worf - his comedic timing was superb "I am NOT a Merry Man!". Indeed.
4) Seven of Nine - She was such a huge upgrade on Kess I can't be grateful enough to her.
5) Spock - the original Vulcan
6) Borgs - The Borg Queen, Hugh
7) Ferengi - The Grand Magus, Quark, and his brother Rom
8 ) KHAN!!!! The Wrath of Khan was a fantastic movie
9) Jean Luc Picard - My favorite of the Captains
10) Xindi - the five Xindi species were an interesting foe for the original Enterprise crew

Honestly his weight is fine, it’s the hair piece that had me cringing

The hair wasn't what gave me uncanney valley cringe. It was the size of his mouth.

The Knights who say Neee wrote:My favorite Star Trek series characters include:
