After watching DS9 over several weeks from beginning to end (several times I've done that in total), and just started on Voyager for what I think is the fourth complete runthrough I have done of it, I've finally concluded that I like Voyager more.

I think the earlier series of DS9 let it down a bit. I personally on the whole prefer Voyager but if DS9 started at series 4 (including the really good ones from series 1-3) I think I would prefer that.

I think the reason I like Voyager more is that it poses a lot more moral and ethical dilemmas than DS9 did. I mean sure, DS9 had the:

Falsifying of evidence and the murder of Senator Vreenak (IT'S A FAKE!!!!! ) to bring the Romulans into the war.

as well as others, but overall Voyager had more of them, probably because their situation was more desperate overall.

True, but more often then not voyager got to take the high road and eat its cake too. ITPM is so great because Sisko didn’t take the high road, he got down and dirty, betrayed everything he believed in for the chance it would save the Alpha Quadrant, and at the end of the day he decided it was worth it given the stakes.

Ransom committed atrocity for selfish reasons, weighing his Crews life against thousand, and Janeway refused to make the same choice. Still got home alrightish. Sisko weighed the murder of two people, against the fate of the galaxy. I don’t think Voyager’s situation was more desperate, just different.

I don't think "Janeway is always right" is really presenting ethical dilemmas.

On that point, there are several instances where Janeway is brought down several pegs by being shown that her position is fucking stupid, so not sure about that one Vass.

Voyager is many things, but morally complex and desperate are not on that list.

Disappointed that we won't get to see Captain Nog in canon.

DS9 Pale moon Light, the Moral Dilemma is murder 2 people versus saving billions of people. Sisko is tempted and agrees.

VOY has zero Moral Dilemma. Prime Directive decrees "Genocide this Planet" and it is a right philosophy. Janeway is NEVAH EVAH tempted to save those people.

Star Trek BEYOND is entertaining siiliness and I like it.

Having watched both DS9 and Voyager, I believe that neither was fully better than the other. Both had serious merits and shortcomings.

Okay Sherridan, it took you a bit, but you finally won me over. Can't hate a dude with the brass lowhangers to
drop a couple of nukes on those shadow bitches while he's standing right in the middle of the blast zone.

Good stuff. Also, I hope season 4's intro is better. Cause the season 3 one was ass.

Oh, so season 4 is gonna try to sell me on Londo finally reforming? Yeah, no. Too little, too late. Genocidal, self-involved fuckwit. Acts like a complete cock until some wackadoo becomes Emperor, which his dumb ass helped happen by the way, and now he suddenly develops a conscious. My ass.

You know, I think this is where I stop. Between Londo still breathing and getting a redemption arc so lazy it makes Diamond Tiara's look earned, the BS end to the war, the bland romance angle between Delen and Sherridan and the one I can see them setting up between Ivanova and Marcus, I'm not interested in continuing.

I was actually gonna recommend stopping after the shadow war. The human civil war is drawn out and pretty lame after the shadow war. They should have done it in reverse.

1. Yes, that is a quite common way for wars to end.
2. You know no species in that fight is really capable of that, right? (Except for maybe the Walkers or something) This isn't Star Trek or Star Wars, power levels vary, you can't just use man power or hopes and dreams in order to take out the enemy if you're a deer and the enemy is Godzilla.
3. They go off to become inter-galactic explorers, to be exact.
4. TBH, The Dominion War was an anti-climax too.
