STD o the other hand, is joyless, grimdark, edgy, and completely got rid or ST's optimism. Meanwhile JJ's films are light, have enjoyable action, and still have ST's optimism.

Not from a solely Star Wars fan.

The ability to be part of multiple fandoms leads to powers some consider to be unnatural.

If ST09 is Insurrection then how could Insurrection have been made in 1998 and not 2009?

I know, that's why I gave you the links.

I think of them as ST 7, ST 8, ST 9, ST 10, ST09, Into Darkness, and Beyond. (If we're using numbers, but if were not I just give the subtitle)

Doesn't quite gel with what I saw especially around the STID release. And indeed to this day.

That's because STID was generally pretty good up until oh... the final 3rd of the movie, which was incredibly lazy. (Also, how did the crew not know who Khan, one of the most dangerous humans in existence was?

Watched the opening episode, i quite liked it. Thought it was a good starting episode for a new season.

Im intrigued in these signals that the Enterprise picked up on and what they will mean, and also what exactly this red angel is. I fully expect Pike to die in like an episode or two though because he dies in like the first episode of the original series right?

Miss Lorca tho, he was awesome

Nope!

During a training mission Pike gets exposed to radiation after trying to save some cadets and is left in a vegetative state until 2267, when he gets to return to Talos IV (The setting of The Cage) and spends the rest of his life in a dream world.

I mean, he doesn't really get to go to Talos IV, he more gets kidnapped by the Spock and Kirk because he doesn't accept the Talosians offer to help him due to the events of The Cage, but the Talosians have taken a liking to him and he eventually comes around figuring that a dream world is better than being stuck in a wheelchair with painful burns all over his body and not being able to talk.

Interesting Orville.
I like those stories where an advanced society believes in something seemingly archaic. Kinda like "Devil's Due" but more extreme.

Also, I love how giddy everyone was at the prospect of first contact. That was nice.

I think they have a lot more Xelayan episodes planned and didn’t want to toss them just cause Halston Sage quit.

I had the same reaction, but I’d say give her time. It was only one episode.

Last episode was some pretty old school Trek stuff, which is good.

Seeing some signs that we might actually get to know the rest of the bridge crew too, which is something I was missing in season one.
