I stopped by my local comic book shop for Free comic day and got a TNG comic set in the mirror universe called Mirror Broken Now I want to buy future issues.

It looks by the TNG era all that was left of the Terran Empire is the Sol System, Vulcan and a few others to heavily fortified for the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance to conquer

Well it is canon that the Empire collapses in on itself.

Well, seems like it's been awhile since our last list question, so who would you all say is your favorite character (or characters if you can't choose just one) from the different series that you've seen? Mine would probably be:

ENT: Shran
TOS: Scotty, Spock
TNG: Worf, Picard
DS9: Too many to list, but Sisko, Jadzia, Worf, Kira, Quark, Garak
VOY: The Doctor, Janeway, B'Elanna.

Deep Space Nine, in my opinion, has the best characters out of any Trek series. They're the most flawed and enjoyable, but that isn't to say that characters from the other series aren't as well.

It looks like I won't have to pay for a streaming service, so i'll probably watch it.

This was able to produce a full cast and trailer before STD.

Actually, it's getting streamed on Netflix everywhere else in the world (Excluding the US and Canada), also, they ask that you call it ST DIS, something I refuse to do.

Everything about it just kinda is bleh. The name, the ship, the crew, the time period. Just yawn. They should have gone past the Dominion war, not back to whatever vague treaty bullshit they're doing

Laying off Discovery for a minute, I must say I enjoyed the character of Suder from Voyager. I wish he had appeared more before his death to make it more tragic.

Eh. He was kinda forgettable in my opinion. Just Brad Dourif doing his crazy guy shtick in live action.

Wow. It looks...terrible.

That clunky exposition.
The stilted dialogue.
Whatever they did to the Klingons.
Those tilted camera angles everywhere.

That may be the single most depressing thing I've seen today. Definitely not holding out much hope at this point that STD will be anything but terrible (at least for the first 3 seasons, with any luck maybe it'll follow in the footsteps of previous Trek series and won't completely suck by season 4).

Continuing the Star trek tradition of the first season being mediocre.

Star Trek shows have always been mediocre in their first season and don't get good until about the end of the second.

I honestly don't know what to think about Discovery. I want it to be good, but I really hate how they've gone about doing it.

Watching the trailer for the second time, it seems to have more of a JJVerse vibe to it than a Prime vibe.

I don't understand the hate STD is getting for its teaser. What they showed wasn't much, but it seems to have quite some potential. They are putting the best of special effects and makeup technology to its work to modernize Star Trek. All that's necessary now is a good plot and set of characters to live in the world they have created.

The ship in the teaser is not the Discovery, it is the Shenzhou.
