Are you doing a play-by-play of Into Darkness or something?

I guess. It's rough to watch alone

Apparently in the 23rd century they have the technology to not only have a conversation over club music but a phone call as well.

God we could use that now...

I don't remember it even being shown on TNG, thought the Enterprise just came upon the aftermath.

Correct, the Enterprise-D didn't participate in the Battle of Wolf 359, it got there after the Federation armada had already been destroyed by the Cube. Enterprise-D then confronted the Cube at the Battle of Sector 001.

No, Enterpise-D (the one in service though the TNG show) was a Galaxy Class. Enterprise-E (in service for the movie Star Trek: Nemesis) was a Sovereign Class.

edit; Also Enterprise-E never fought the Borg in canon. Enterprise-D was the ship which confronted the Cube at the Battle of Sector 001 (which was soon after Wolf 359). You're thinking of First Contact.

Battle of Sector 001 was the confrontation in Star Trek: First Contact

First Contact is canon #1.

2. Battle of Sector 001 was in First Contact not TNG show.

Speaking of battle, had a twofer "Hey, it's..." moment watching First Contact the other day. First time I was like "Hey, that's a Defiant class ship!" and then I was like "Hey, it's Ben Wyatt!"

I would mind a John madden style commentary it might make it a hell of a lot better think about it?

Now in a space battle, the ship that does more damage to the other ship, is gonna win the space battle.

Now I will say I don't know why everyone complains about the fight between spock and Khan. Roddenberry would shit himself if he could have done a fight like this in TOS

Been playing Star Trek Online and while it isn't without good features and there's still a lot of it I haven't explored, I can't help feeling that it could be a lot better.

That's the common sentiment. Problem is it's limited by its medium. While in real life you could find a myriad of situations and issues to deal with and overcome, you'll only find what the situations and possible outcomes the writers have written for it.

That's true for any work of fiction so I don't hold it against Star Trek Online, though games can partially overcome it by having randomly created stuff and user-made stuff.

My main issues with Star Trek Online are that I find aspects of its design confusing and that I found that the Star Wars game Knights of the Old Republic handled dialog better and had comparable graphics despite being older (I think). And that Star Trek Online could give the player more options in how they deal with missions.

But I get some satisfaction from flying around and blasting things with phasers and torpedoes, the game gives lots of options for customizing your characters, and the scale of the interstellar space part of the game is good.
