Nonsense. This is the Straczynski appreciation thread; so we mostly discuss Babylon 5, Captain Power, Wheeled Warriors and She-Ra: Princess of Power (no, not the netflix show where everyone is gay )

This thread is for whatever half-decent sci-fi series with no thread people choose to talk about. We talk about The Orville when that's on, they like Stargate, there was a brief Babylon 5 period...

The sheer implications of what Jack inflicts upon those people are what really make it.

What was the name of that episode?

SG-1 season 3 episode 5, Learning Curve.
This is the episode where the Naquadah Reactor, one of the most important pieces of engineering technology in the series, is introduced and obtained by Stargate Command in the form of the Naquadah Generator.

Bralia wrote:Dude . . . the Nazi episode of Stargate . . . I was really paying attention this time to gauge just how swiftly the team turned against the Nazis. And man, Jack actually acted with VERY little information. O'Neill only learned two things, for sure, that the population of the Nazi people were white and Daniel had assured him that they started the war. That's it. Not even remotely the worst bits, which Carter and Daniel learned. With what little knowledge O'Neill had, he assumes control of one of their fighter wings and goes on a decimation spree against the other Nazi fighter wings before plowing his own into the ground, severely devastating the underground complex the Nazis call home probably single-handedly ending the war for the "Breeders". And shortly afterwards, he kills Hitler by closing the Iris on him.
And practically reacted without hesitation. Like . . . it's actually so damn brutal. Not exactly what you would expect from a family show. The only thing comparable, imo, in sheer visceral impact, is in Atlantis when Shepard engages the gate's shield during The Storm and kills ~60 Genii. Like bugs on a windshield.
Footnote: René Auberjernois is phenomenal in that episode. Love that guy as an actor.

It looks like your standard adult cartoon a la family guy except in space.
Seriously, ST should thrive in animation because you no longer have the limitations of live action effects, and they decide to make Family Guy in space, sure. Not even good Family Guy, bad Family Guy after MacFarlane left.

I mean, I've SEEN threats to Roddenberry's vision with discovery and picard, but that trailer was the most viscerally dangerous piece of NuTrek media these guys have put out.
I'm not looking forward to Kurtzman's new "expanded universe".
