Actually, its probably the mouth being too small. I saw an edit in the STSP FB group where someone gave him a bigger mouth, and he looked like TNG and movie-era Data.

Ah. Well they’re just wrong then.

All the pilots are pretty cringe, in hindsight. Except for Emissary, but even then, its nowhere as good as the rest of DS9, except for other season one episodes.

Bralia wrote:Oh god, I've transitioned into watching Voyager again. It's crazy how the show makes me feel, it's incredible how different it really is from TNG. TNG is a good, likable show with many good episodes mixed with lesser episodes aplenty. TNG defines Star Trek. Voyager, on the other hand, receives an omnipresent unconditional love that cannot be controlled because it's the best Trek. I completely lack an ability to modulate the amount of gushing I do for Voyager.

Having grown up with Voyager, and only relatively recently watching DS9, I think they're equally excellent representations of Trek at its finest.

Bralia wrote:Would like to point out that this is an issue easily solved based on the personalities and age of the people involved: Beltran is clearly a Robert, Picardo is a Bob and RDM is a Rob.

Actually, the hilarious thing is that from the convention videos I've seen, that's actually how the other cast members talk about them. Except RDM is Robbie, instead of just Rob.

I think Voyager had a few more clunkers in its run (inb4 flame war over whether Threshold or Move Along Home was the worst Trek episode ever) but they're both solid.

You know, in terms of all-time shocking moments in a sci-fi show, I think the moment when a Vidiian cuts off Fred Durst's face and wears it is a solid #2 on my list. It's really a special level of fucked up.

I thought that was pretty blatantly set up in Nemesis though. "Oh no, Data is dead! All we have to remember him by is this identical Soong android that he uploaded all of his programming into..." When they actually still thought they were going to get another movie :p

First Impression: Can we just go ahead and cancel Discovery and move immediately into full time Picard production?

I hope someone from DS9 is able to have a cameo in the Picard show. I think Doctor Bashir or Nog (Now Captain Nog) would be a good choice.

I'm sure they can't wait to cancel a successful series and instead gamble the entire franchise on an as-of-yet unproven one, because someone on NS doesn't like it.

You think what it means to be omniscient. Omnipresent. Omnipotent. Immortal. These concepts are at the edge of comprehension, the edge of reality. They are theories of existence expressed by those who consider themselves enlightened. To have delved so deeply into thought, to have reflected on the nature of existence and its limits . . . it gives people a sense that there is an understanding of the universe.

The truth is FAR greater than any of these mundane concepts. And only one Star Trek episode out of all of them ever comes close to bestowing an understanding of such higher realms of being.

My reverence for Threshold is absolute. Unwavering. All should strive to see beyond the concepts of "low humanity" as I do.

The unorthodox truths that come from the advancement of human thought and science are always persecuted before society inevitably opens their eyes. I stand before you today, as Galileo did before the Catholic Church.

Michael O'Hare left the show due to mental health issues.

This only became widely known after his death when the creator of the show, J Michael Straczynski talked about it at a convention a few years back.

Probably because Michael O'Hare voluntarily left on account of the fact that he had incredibly serious mental and physical health issues, which lead to filming being absolutely hell for him and lead to several instances of paranoid delusions, hallucinations, and fights with fellow costars and crewmembers.
