It's not a real Trek show till a bunch of people start whining that it isn't a real Trek show.
It's one of the only things that's actually consistent about Star Trek as a whole. :lol2:

Bunch of kids cruising the stars in the USS Shenanigans, getting into all kinds of Hijinks? I'd watch that cartoon, it sounds fun and enjoyable.

Exactly, it's clearly aimed at the kid demographic and hey if it cultivates a new generation of sic-fi nerds and trekkies, make ten of them.

It's Nick, the most likely outcome is that they're gonna cancel it after 1 season or relegate it to Nicktoons after like, 12 episodes.

If it doesn't do as well as the Sponge then they don't care. (And only 1 show has achieved that feat so far)

So apparently last weeks Orville wasn't just a one-off. According to my channel guide, it's gonna have consequences come the episode tonight.

I assume you mean ep #09: timey whimey graviton wave: Kelly from 7 years ago; hilarity ensues.
In the long ago time, a beautiful Countess said to George Bernard Shaw, "Mr Shaw, with your brains and my beauty, our baby would be awesome." GbS quipped back, "Indeed, your Excellency, but what if the baby had my beauty and your brains?"

SPOILER: Ed gives up on a shag for the sake of … reasons?
Reset button, status quo is god.
Unsatisfying ending: Audience know Kelly is safe; but Crew only know that she disappeared; Crew don't know ifn she be safe. That is SO reset button.
But then Nice surprise ending

Or you mean ep #08 more revelations re Moclan sexuality
Planet of the Gays = how can they breed? They nail fake winkles on the females and tell them they are legally male.

Good finale. Way more action packed than the season 1 finale.
And with the timeline corrected, I'm hoping they don't force Ed and Kelly back together. It's fun in a throwaway timeline, but I don't want it in the main universe.

So, getting off the Orville derail, lets talk about a potential DS9 revisit.

Personally, I'd like to see a plot line where Ben Sisko returns, and eventually gets recruited by Section 31.

Sisko would never join them. And I doubt they'd offer. He is not what you look for in a Section 31 guy. Look at Sloan. Generic looking guy, easy to forget about, real good with slick talk. Sisko is 6'1, bald, never been much on the speechifying, lets his emotions run hot a lot and is Starfleet to the core. He's not really spy material.

Of that, I have no doubt, but that doesn't mean they still wouldn't try to use him, a la Bashir.

And I doubt they'd offer. He is not what you look for in a Section 31 guy.

His methods of dealing with post-betrayal Eddington, and of getting the Romulans involved in the Dominion War speak otherwise. He's EXACTLY what they're looking for: a man who can and will do anything to preserve the Federation and its interests, even if it involves going against one of its core principles.

Look at Sloan. Generic looking guy, easy to forget about, real good with slick talk. Sisko is 6'1, bald, never been much on the speechifying and lets his emotions run hot a lot. He's not really spy material.

Surely, there are other operatives with those same attributes.

You're right, this is the Stargate thread and we've gone way too far off topic.

I find watching SG-1 kinda weird, mainly because I'm actually from Colorado Springs, so seeing Vancouver pretend to be CS is really strange. Especially when it shows downtown areas or exteriors involving the mountains (Colorado Springs only has 1 mountain towards the West, not a bunch of them surrounding the town, also, downtown CS is way more open then presented in the show).

Also, the place is a desert that's mainly brown and snowy throughout the year, not green almost all year round.

You know, with The Orville existing and being in a flexible older-style Star Trek, it would be really cool if the took a season to get launched far away enough from their home territory to spend the entirety of the season's time getting back. Or get them stuck in an alternate reality. Anything that takes an entire season, really. They could experience a voyage home that's in line with what fans wanted out of Voyager. The Orville crew seem much more inclined to throw out the rulebook than Janeway and Starfleet and the show takes itself seriously enough that I think they could do it well.
