Still betting Burnham will end up in bed with Kirk.

They seem to be changing the appearance of the klingons as well, saw a hologram of an old school style Klingon destroyer, im near certain i saw an old school style klingon too and your woman, fuck what was her name, the one who wore the white armour, looked like she was being changed by something at one point in the trailer.

Pretty sure he's still at the Academy at this point in the timeline.

I wouldn’t call her my woman, my idea of mating is less combative

And Burnham can't be a proper awful fanfic self-insert protagonist if she doesn't somehow get shoehorned into having a connection to KIRK! ANOTHER THING YOU REMEMBER!
I mean, she wouldn't be the first. Dax mentioned she and McCoy got busy when she was Emony.

DS9 takes place long after TOS, and Dax (the symbiote) is established to be several hundred years old, and it was just an amusing callback. That whole episode in general was just a fun one shot love letter to TOS.
Like, to compare since it was also a prequel, I never and still don't like Enterprise, but at least it was an honest prequel, meaning that even though they did it badly, they obviously genuinely made it a prequel because they wanted to tell stories from a largely undefined period of Trek 'history', and that was far enough back to be completely disconnected from any other series.
Compare to Discovery, which was so painfully obviously made a prequel for no other reason than to whore that sweet sweet TOS nostalgia for everything it's worth. SAREK! SPOCK! ENTERPRISE! COLORED SHIRTS! THINGS YOU REMEMBER!

Yes.
I'm pretty sure that there's not been a self-destruct that's needed more than three people to authorise. Did I miss one?

To say nothing of the way Voyager apparently did away with the two-key lock and Janeway could just blow up the ship whenever she wanted.

Voyager was originally dispatched to capture the Maquis ship Val Jean in the Badlands, so maybe they implemented that weird command protocol in case a Maquis insurrection (haha I made a movie pun) happened to infiltrate the ship?
But the Delta Quadrant theory is probably more correct.
