The Klingons are giving an elaborate burial ceremony to one of their dead. What? Maybe its just me remembering that one episode of TNG where they call the body a useless husk when they die.

Second part was better.
Though Micheal is going to be a hard character to like. Between the whole "Pupil of Sarek" deal and her general attitude, I wonder if she'll be able to carry the show. Space battle was pretty cool. That ship uncloaking as it pizza sliced that fed ship was pretty kickass.

There was an episode of DS9 that contradicted that TNG episode, too. Can't remember which one, though, it's all blurring together at this point. Distinctly remember it was a scene between O'Brien and Worf, they talked over the casket of fallen comrade.

That was "The Ship". Worf said there was an old tradition of keeping the predators away from the body.

So that was alright. Fortunately for us Canucks, we don't have to get the streaming service from CBS.

It just airs on Space and Z for English and French versions respectively. Then Bell's CraveTV gets the re-runs.

My PVR is going to be full at this rate.

I actually liked those two episodes of Discovery, and i honestly did not have a lot of interest in it till i saw it on Netflix and decided to watch it, and i was actually surprised.

The Klingon redesign still irks me a bit, i think my biggest issue with them is what my brother pointed out and that they used maybe a bit too much makeup and prosthetics on them, if it was not as heavy maybe they would look a bit better. Their ships im still a bit torn on, i dont like their armour though, definitely not a huge fan of it.

As for the Discovery itself, based on the preview for the third episode, and the stylised intro (which i also really liked) it seems a bit different from the original 3D animation they put out a long time, which is good as i did not like that design that much, but this version i think looks better. Ill have to flick up some comparison photos and look at it more closely. Or maybe the design has just grown on me a bit more. The lead character i like, but i want to see more of her to get a better opinion of her. Thought your woman from WD played her well though.

The battle scene in the second episode was cool, i really liked that, especially the weapon effects and the power they had behind them, those ships were getting fucking shredded. Thought that captain Georgiou would bite it the second i saw her, so not too surprised at that. The lead Klingon T'Kuvma i liked, thought he was good. Hope he did not die and he sticks around as a recurring enemy.

So probably in the minority on it, but yeah i liked it... think it has potential, will see how it goes and ill come back to netflix each week to watch the new episodes.
