Anyway, yeah, I don't like Malcolm. I can see this show is trying to shoot for gruff badass, but he's just kind of a mopey dick who is rude to everyone. I mean a lady is trying to teach you sword fighting to save your ass, and you respond by calling her a whore. The same day you compared your mechanic to a sheep walking on its hind legs because she wanted a dress. Like, am I suppose to like this guy? Cause it ain't working.

And done. My final opinion is a big fat meh. Average show with forgettable characters, a supremely unlikable lead, some truly boring locations (Did they have to use the same stretch of desert for every planet?) and most assuredly not worth the mountains of hype people give it.

So I hear Paramount is selling Star Trek NFT's now, and here I thought they had run out of holes in the corpse to desecrate.

I full heartedly attest that DS9 is the best of all Trek, yet for some reason I find Voyager to be the most rewatchable.

I like everyone more or less but I think it's especially fun that Dr. Jurati is basically a normal person among these hypercompetent Starfleet weirdos and it's stressing her out.

Overall the Halo series is.... okay so far, but ive only watched three episodes and feel like i need to see more before i can form a proper opinion overall. Its got some things in it that i like and some things that i dont care that much about.

I like how the show has not shied away from the brutality of the Covenant or the darker aspects of the UNSC and the Insurgents (though i think so far its done a bad job at showing the scale of the conflict with the Covenant). The designs of the weaponry and vehicles are all top notch and match the games almost perfectly with a few slight changes here or there like the Elite armour which i dont mind, but the warthogs, the covenant dropships, the marine armour etc all look very very good.

When it comes to the chief himself he is... also okay. He is not the same as he is in the games, but i think the Actor is doing a decent enough job, but he is one of the main things i need to see more of in more episodes to come to a proper conclusion about him. Halsey, Cortana, Kwan etc i all quite like though, think they are doing a good job.

Thee story overall is a bit eh but its not bothered me as much as it has a lot of people. Ill just watch more and see how i feel at the end of the season.

I think my main beef with the Halo show so far is pacing - we're three episodes out of nine in and what exactly has happened? Maybe I'm a relic of 90s style nonserialized sci-fi but I remember a time when more than one plot beat happened per episode.

The show does do a good job of setting itself up as an MCU sequel though -
first we had America's Ass, now we face the Master Butt. Praise!

The character work is pretty good though, and it's interesting seeing everyone's motivations fan out on the backdrop of increasingly-authoritarian Reach politicking.

Halo is alright. I know lots of fans are up in arms about the changes, but I suppose I’m just used to adaptations messing with things. I also went in with no expectation so, eh.

I like the focus on civilian life and the UNSC’s militarism, but I agree with the pacing, and I think this rediscovering Chief’s memory plotline is kinda dumb. It’s also a change that feels very forced, since I’m pretty sure regular Master Chief remembers his childhood and the truth of the Spartan program.

There aren’t any changes I can’t live with, but a lot of them feel unnecessary. Why replace Blue Team if Chief still has three other Spartans with the same roles? It’s also like the strange Covenant woman is sidelining the actual Prophets, maybe because it cuts down on screen time for the expensive alien CGI?

About Silver team, one of the theories ive seen on reddit a few times is that Reach will get glassed at the end of the season by the Covenant and that Silver team will probably die in the process, thus setting up the events of Halo: CE in the second season, or at least whatever this shows versions of that will be.

So if that does happen then maybe Blue Team could be introduced at a later date or something.

Spike TV finally aired all of Enterprise's season 1 episodes so you'd think they'd continue with S2. They did, starting with episode 2 and skipping the second part of 'Shockwave'. So without commercial break we saw Archer looking out over a destroyed San Francisco in the 29th century and then him having dinner with Trip and T'Pol on the Enterprise as if nothing happend.

Well yes, but I don't understand what that has to do with this so called Halo.

So in episode 6 they pulled a Balter and Six relationship with the The Borg Queen and Jurati, and now in Episode 7, James Callis is introduced as new antagonist of sorts. Coincidence? I Think Not!

For anyone curious why Ten Forward was called Ten Forward, it's because it was on the 10th deck of the forward hull section of the ship.

Current "ST" writers don't know that, so I'm just spreading the message for the rest of the community.

Also, Io is a volcanic hellscape that is probably the last place humans should go. This bugged me about Babylon 5 too.
