Not really. There are still some really good games that are new for $15, and I don't honestly think $40 for a game like Heavy Rain is that bad, or $60 for The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls. I heard in some ways games are cheaper then they used to be. I also hear that the next generation games are still likely to be $60, so if you add on inflation, games will be cheaper in the next generation of consoles. Or, right now, $60 for a game is cheaper then they were when they were $60 5 or 6 years ago.

We got Metro 2033 for $5 on Steam and I felt like I robbed the game or something. It was definitely worth more then what we paid for it.

In general, games have been getting cheaper pretty consistently forever. You might want to try googling the release price of something like Pacman if you want something really ridiculous.

Pretty much all of the early home-console versions were $60+.

Is that adjusted for inflation? If not, how much would you estimate they would cost now?

Another thing I see that's different too is you get a lot more content for your $60, in the since that programming the game is more complex, if you buy the right game, creativity. Great storytelling, whatever. Pacman is just like an arcade game...

Of course, there were some games with a ton of content back in the day, but to me the type of content all depends. A 15 hour story like The Last of Us (it is estimated at about 16 hours) is different then, say, Beyond: Two Souls 10 hour story. The Last of Us is 15 hours with brutal gameplay thrown in, and long times of just walking through locations and whatnot. It is a very story-driven game, though. And you got Beyond: Two Souls that is pretty much like playing a 10-hour interactive movie, so you pretty much got things going at you constantly there. And something open-world like Red Dead Redemption, or Skyrim with loads of other possibilities to throw out countless hours is also different then a completely story-driven game.

Of course, Red Dead Redemption's story was rather awesome, it being a story-driven game or not.

1. In your starting station, there will be 4 agents (questgivers) 3 of which will have an "event" tag under them. Do all 30 of these missions (10 from each, rather quick) and youll have a destroyer, all types of modules, and a hefty amount of ISK. Best part is, you can do pretty much all of them in your starting ship.
2. Don't join a corporation until you're sure you're ready for endgame, because if not, you'll be thrown into a meat grinder.
3. Always check market trends before selling. If you could wait 2 days for 20% more profit, do it.
4. You're signing a death warrant by going into nullsec, and a waver in lowsec.
5. If you're doing PVE, play Caldari, missiles are very effective against NPCs, otherwise, see what interests you (I personally play Caldari in Highsec, and Gallente in Low-Nullsec.
6. Stealing is legal in Highsec, and will have you marked for 15 minutes, so if you see a crate, and there are goodies in it, take and run.
7. Don't shoot people lest you wish to be Concordokkened.

I do. It's glorious.
And the multiplayer is better on the N64 than on the XBox.
Though, my ability to play it will only last as long as the life on the controllers. The N64 itself will survive anything.

Consoles are generally more popular with the demographic of 13 year old assholes, from what I've played of both. Saying that, I did play Halo on the xBox while I play stuff like Civ and Planetside on the PC, so it's probably more about which games are popular on each platform rather than the platform itself.

My sister has recently revealed herself to be a Black Ops 2 fanatic.

I played a little bit...

It wasn't half as annoying as I thought it would be.

It's actually... Dare I say, fun.

In an arcadey sort of way. I definitely would prefer the tactics and the strategy of other games over it, but I'll admit that it's good in it's own sort of way.

I muted fuckers whenenever they whipped out the soundboards and started playing Disney pop.

I'll probably actually play Black Ops at some point, when it is much cheaper. Not in a hurry. I can enjoy Modern Warfare 2 in the right mood, for a while. Kinda stopped playing as much after getting Bad Company 2.

Honestly, while the stories are bland, the gameplay doesn't seem to ever evolve much, they don't seem to do anything risky, ect, I will say that all the Call of Duty games ARE really well made for what they are. I just wish they would evolve and do something else. It doesn't make up for the bland stories though, but I won't just say the entire game is crappily made. They are actually pretty strong games, especially from what I have seen of Treyarch. Just not something I feel is worth $60 every year for something that doesn't change much or evolve, graphically, story, and gameplay wise.
