Do we actually have figures showing exactly how much product bronies actually buy from Hasbro?

The central argument of the argument being made in that post is that bronies are not the target audience, and as such don't generate a great deal of money for Hasbro. While the first premise is clearly true, the second one seems to be suspect to me. Simply because bronies are not the target audience does not mean that bronies don't contribute significantly to Hasbro's coffers. When ever a new toy set in announced, one can see a number of people-- presumably adult fans and not eight year old girls-- on Equestra Daily commenting no how they're going to buy them. More importantly, at least two of product lines-- the trading cards and the IDW Comics-- are clearly produced with bronies in mind. And likely never intended to be sold to the so-called target audience. The cards contain a number of references to the fandom (such as Derpy and Doctor Whooves) and the comics themselves are rather dark or mature.

So claim then, that Bronies are not a significant market for Hasbro because we're not the target audience is suspect at best, and more than likely false. Bronies are the ones the the disposable income to throw away on this stuff, after all.

So I'm going to have to disagree with the conclusion that bronies aren't important to FiM. I daresay we are, and our opinion should matter for something.
