I've known a few hating everything beyond Gen I. It's such hipsterism. "Anything beyond Gen I is too mainstream for me."

I've seen the nostalgia goggles wear off a bit on at least one. They still thought the newer ones sucked but at least they accepted the new ones as legitimate.

Pokémon really seems to get nostalgia worse than any other franchise. Even the Zelda fans who hated Wind Waker simply because it had a Link who wasn't an orphan are better than Pokémon fans.
