Oh, and while I'm here, my least favourite episode was Tikka to Ride. All that character development, all that effort spent on how Lister is a decent human being who sacrificed his life to prevent a bad future from coming about...was completely wasted after he lost his curries. Apparently Starbug was secretly carrying tons of vindaloos and poppadoms despite relying on urine recyc for drink, and had their future selves offered some good hot sauce he'd have been sold.

Hmmm... hard to pick. Definitely none of the seasons on Starbug, or that horrible one without Rimmer.
Probably a tie between Me2, Blue, and Polymorph. I love a good laugh.

It not only retconned Rimmer's relationship with Lister, but claimed that he had a hard light drive on Red Dwarf.

It certainly does, and it pisses me off when the eighth series screwed around with it, like those stupid uniforms they showed in a flashback with Kochanski, which were replaced with near-identical to the original ones in series nine. Which also showed Lister's rebuilt quarters from series' one and two.
And while I'm complaining - Nanos', why did you have to dismantle the entire ship in an unrealistically short time (nanos' for an android dismantling a ship three miles long??)? Couldn't you have just...made your own Red Dwarf and scooted off without anyone the wiser?

Arr, asking for continuity in RD is a joke all by itself. It's a comedy. Would you demand continuity in the Young Ones? Why do we always demand continuity anyway. In shows like Star Trek, sure, it's acceptable to get cut by that sort of thing. I caught myself getting pissed off by the massive lack of respect for old fans demonstrated by the new Star Trek films (until someone pointed out to me, who's to say the timeline wasn't changed by the events in First Contact) but I'm not going to get upset about a comedy.
