I think he said he was banned, and now he's back. Something about no longer trolling too. Alright, now let's have a sensible(on the internet? Yeah right.) debate about whatever we're talking about.

Absolutely. Let's begin, good sir; this time with something less ships, like characters.

I'm pretty sure the IG outnumber the Imperial Storm troopers, and I wonder how lasguns compare to blaster rifles.

Depends on the Jedi, really. You put a weird boy against someone like Nihilus... you're gonna have a bad time.

And then there's the exact circumstances of the fight itself. Is one sneaking up on the other? Do they have back up? What's the terrain like? How close to each other are they when the fight begins? And so on and so on.

There's a reason they're called flashlights, and no, the stormtroopers- that's not what I meant by characters. Now we're just going back in a huge circle.

From an objective standpoint, las guns are fucking powerful. They just happen to be ineffective against most imperium enemies, because everything out there has tough skin.

But it doesn't matter, anyway, because their weapons are going to be as effective as twigs are against human skin. Lasers suck against plastoid. It's stupid, but true.

Stormtroopers would probably win, even if IG outnumbers them. Blaster rifles would probably be stronger then lasguns, as they seem to be more like a plasma gun analogue (if you take away the tendency to explode in the user's hands). And stormtroopers would have better tactics, are more mobile, better commanding officers, and (you're gonna have to believe me here) better aim.

I know it's hard to believe, stormtroopers having good aim, but they do. The reason they sucked in the movies was because they were bad guys facing the heroes in a Hollywood production. Look back at the start of Episode IV, when they storm the Rebel ship. They slaughtered the (unnamed, unimportant to the plot) rebels aboard it.

You really don't think a high grade piece of plastic cannot stop a modern bullet?

Honestly this is a sci fi series that has a high grade plastic capable of stopping plasma and energy.

It only makes sense the armor given to the storm troopers was decent.

High grade plastic cannot stand up to the punishment that plastoid can. Plastoid is a piece of shit material that was created to make storm troopers something more than just herp derp retarded troops who die all the time.

Kevlar is arguably within the realm of "plastics." Glocks and many other firearms have polymer frames.

Kevlar is woven, though. Weaves are arguable superior to solid structure.

Also, you don't have much stopping power with Kevlar until you get to larger, bulkier outfitting, and often these include ceramics.

No, Adamantium is far from fucking invulnerable. Tyranid acid - BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCED ACID - eats through tank walls. However, a plastic analogue able to completely disperse temperatures imparted by lasers that are around 7500 degrees to 10000 degrees depending on the laser? That, my friend, THAT, is cheese.

IG Flak Armor is little different from MODERN FLAK ARMOR because it is cheap. It is understandable. Space Marines - or something much like them - are somewhat conceivable. Titans are truly cheesy but my favorite ones are the ones that just stay a half mile or more from the fight and act as support platforms. The WAAAGH!!! Is cool. Plastoid? Plastoid is fucking ridiculous. The only matter that will not be reduced to a liquid or gaseous form at levels around what lasguns supposedly can manage is carbon. Plastoid is CLEARLY not pure carbon as it is... well, let's see.

A. White.
B. Not extremely brittle.
C. Doesn't leave marks everywhere.

I don't see why you're saying IG Flak armor is stupid - it's only stupid in the fact that the Imperium didn't waste time producing billions, if not trillions, of suits of armor for all of their troops.

EDIT: The WAAAGH!!! is also the Orkish counterpart to the Force and as such by claiming the WAAAGH!!! and, by extension, psychic powers in Warhammer, is/are stupid, you are fanboying over your midi-chlorians.

Yes, I realize this post is extremely fan-boy-ish. The point is, this entire argument can be based on almost nothing but being fan-boy-ish.

I know, I just felt like pointing out that all this is subjective. I actually view very little of what I listed as derp.

Plastoid isn't invincible either. A single shot from a blaster can kill you. It's just good all around protection against most else.

Plastoid, according to what ZS and Aeten are saying, tend to make most blaster shots nonfatal.

I believe it's akin to what Kevlar/ceramics does to low-caliber bullets: slows them down enough that they can't penetrate the armor. But a higher power blaster will still kill you through plastoid, as a sniper's bullet will kill you through Kevlar.
