After Skyrim?

Postby Max Empire » Sun Dec 02, 2012 8:41 am

Like many Elder Scroll players, I wonder what happens after the events of skyrim. Galmar Stone-Fist sais the would invade the Summerset Isles in the near future. While General Tulius sais that he thinks the Thalmor might start another war.

But im not interested in what they say. I wonder if what they say happens, what would be the outcome? Would the Stormcloaks succede in their invasion of the Summerset Isles? Wouldnt the empire strike back? If there is another war between the Aldmeri Dominion, wouldnt the Empire lose again? Wouldnt the Nords take the opportunity to rebel again?

My question is, what do you think would happen?

Well. We still have skyrim expansions incoming with those regions that are in skyrim.
You know the Imperial city is there, behind the invisible walls? (Enable no clipping, theres a lot of regions like Morrowwind that are there, but empty.)

Those'll be fun.

After those expansions, I expect they'll have to think big and have a continental sized game.

They are already developing an MMO.

They'll still release single player games imo. They won't make WoW's mistake.

I have only heard about the Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn expansions of Skyrim so far.

Didn't know that actually.

It'd be cool if Bethesda makes a game that scans previous Skyrim save files to determine the beginning of whatever comes after Skyrim. Or if you don't have any, you can choose the outcome of that war through dialogues.

But I don't expect that. It's more probable that the ending of Skyrim is irrelevant to the new game, much like Fallout 3 is irrelevant to New Vegas.

The new game is actually going to be all of Tamriel fighting a civil war while daedra lord Molag bal is trying to suck the continent into his realm in Oblivion.

I hope they fix something that bugged me about this edition and give you the option to reboot a dungeon.

If I visit a dungeon at level 7, it remains a level 7 dungeon FOREVER, and restocks once a week.
Thats good as an option, but I should be able to (say, at level 50) to come back, and reboot it (probably on the map) then enter, resetting it to level 50.

Exactly, with a world so large, diverse, and full of history the only real limits they have are technological. They could start a new game at any point in the history of the world and make it fresh and exciting.

Hammerfell, High rock, Black Marsh, Vallenwood, Summerset, and Elswhyr have hardly even been brushed against for example.

Not really. There were a lot of threats from players saying they would unsubscribe, yet regular subscriber numbers remain at over ten million.

They have lost millions.

As good as having 9 million is, and it's real good, it doesn't compare to heights of 12 million.

Those figures are from June, MoP was released in September.

Those figures represent their typical "end of expansion" lull.
