Future Movies Thread

Postby Das Schmutzige Huhn » Fri Nov 09, 2012 2:32 pm

Mission: Discuss the different aspects about movies yet to be released but have at least 1 trailer out. and determine it's ranking by rating everything from cast to design of the movie on a whole.

FMT Movie Rank Chart:
1------------not worth my time or money
2
3
4
5------------ Rent it
6
7
8
9
10--------- A must see movie

so with that said i have the first trailer for Brad Pitt's World War Z movie comng out June 2013
for me it looks cool like a mix between Resident Evil and Modern Warfare.

for the FMT rank I give it a 6.5 for not much of a story within the first trailer and for the zombies being to much like 28 days later meets crappy CGI. I say its most likely a renter rather then a theater watcher.

so with all that give your in put on either WWZ or any otheryet to be released movie.
Have fun

No B-movies or straight to video movies

At first it looked cool but they went too Michael Bay with it. If the trailer is anything to go by it seems that it doesn't have the atmosphere of a zombie film at all. It does come across "like a mix between Resident Evil and Modern Warfare", and for a film that's supposed to chronicle the history of a zombie apocalypse that is not a good thing. The book's supposed to be great, though.

I'm going to perhaps be a hypocrite here and say that I'm really looking forward to The Man With The Iron Fists because it vibes like a more ridiculous version of Kill Bill and that's just too much to pass up.

The book is a spectacular piece of zombie fiction. The original plan was for the movie to more or less follow the book, but with actual scenes where the book had an interviewee talking. I guess that wasn't interesting enough, and it would have been cool to see a movie that was simply set in Brooks' universe, but the movie they're making now is not anything even close. First of all, they've thrown out slow zombies and replaced them with fast zombies (which really only function well in action movies). Then they decided that fast zombies weren't enough, so they turned the zombies into some kind of supernatural force of nature that is able to scale 50+ foot walls by pushing against them, and that flow around corners like a human wave.

I love the book to death, but if I go to see the movie, it'll only be to have some mindless amusement, or so I can justifiably lament Hollywood's inability to see a good idea even when it comes wrapped like a present.

I thought Mn with the Iron fist looked like a cross between kill bill & Mortal Kombat.
