'May the Emperor live ten thousand years!'

Which doesn't exactly make sense in the context of Sengoku since the Emperor at the time literally had no power at all, and your goal is to become Shogun, or the military dictator of Japan. The two posts are entirely separate.

EDIT: My question is, considering that I had more than the necessary warscore (42), why was I not able to annex Bohemia from Austria?

You needed to add the war goal to 'annex *insert region*'

Abandonware? It's newer than Victoria II and HOI3 and only came out in 2011?

Yeah, but it’s ignored by both paradox and the community!

Yeah, but it’s ignored by both paradox and the community!

You should probably stop throwing around the term so easily, in case someone actually takes it seriously and illegally downloads it.

As far as I know, it was meant to be a "test run" for CKII and that's probably why they never really bothered with it afterwards. Also, it was probably trying to cash on the craze caused by Shogun II's release.

But that’s the meaning of the term...Ignored by it’s makers anyways editting it before someone dowbloads it illegally.

You still can get technical support for it from Paradox and is on their forums current PDS games, so it's technically not abandonware. Though, it's hard to know what's abandonware anymore with GOG and virtual console and such things.

Tried that. While I am able to choose the option it does not allow me to proceed with the wargoal of my choice.

I think the 'assert Hegenomy' war goal prevents others being added.

IIRC I looked at it and got annoyed by multiple of the changes in history.
But yes, Victoria II is an awesome game.

It's back up again??
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

I personally ported it to HoD, though it's not perfect.

Played more of the multiplayer Victoria 2 last night.

It's roughly 1900 at this point.

Russia suffered a massive communist rebellion, which he put down, only to then be invaded by Sweden. Desperate, he called in his allies and Sweden was forced to make peace after a combined Anglo-Ottoman-Italian force smashed its army and put the entire country under blockade. It was a fortunate turn of events as Sweden was allied with Super Germany, but pressure from the UK and the agreement of a white peace saw them not get involved. Sadly Russia suffered yet another communist rebellion, and was forced to call the UK for assistance to put it down. Needless to say, Russia is no longer a Great Power at this point. It's former sphere has fallen, with Persia turning to the UK and the others still up in the air.

France allied itself with the USA, captured a state from Spain and went to war with Russia. He was otherwise quiet.

The alliance between Super Germany and the UK came under strain several times, along with the Russo-Swedish War. As Germany cast it's eyes about for colonies it pondered the few states left in SE Asia, despite them being in the UK sphere. When it became evident the UK wasn't backing down from its defensive commitment of these areas, Germany instead turned its attention to the Spanish held areas of the middle east (Saudi Arabia) and the independent kingdom of Yemen.

Japan allied himself with the great power China after a brief spat over Korea. Seems to be shoring up for a war with the USA.

The USA seems to be preparing for a war with Japan.

Brazil is often said to be a good starting point to get the hang of the game, it's a civilized nation that's localized and you can focus in South America. If you start as a great power, particularly the UK, you'll find your attention being drawn off to several places which is annoying when playing a new paradox game.

Uncivilized nations are something you want when you've got the hang of civilized nations.

After having played a really short game as Belgium, which I think I'd recommend as a starting nation together with the Netherlands, I did a Prussia>NGF>German Empire game which I also thought was ok.
