My Byzantine Empire, built 1405-1821.
Not exact province lines, but it looks alot nicer and it's pretty accurate. I westernised around 1565, expanded across the Indian and Atlantic, and spent the last 25 years beating up Bohemia, then the last 8 years racking up infamy care-free.

I only put the mainland part of my Empire on the map, I have about have of Mesoamerica, all of Australia, Zanzibar and Virginia, along with St. Helena and some small Polynesian islands.

Most satisfying moments:

So I made peace with France. Kept the status quo.

Aragon is back, but only one province. Gonna take a break from killing and work on replenishing my levy strength and pacify some of the more uppity regions. Also going to try and form alliances that will help me against France when I decide to reconquer Aragon.

Here's my America game. I was trying to go for United States of Americas, so my goal was to conquer all the AIs on both continents by 1936. I figured it wouldn't be too hard, but I ended up neglecting my Navy until 1900 so I had to slowboat my game trying to stay under the infamy limit, otherwise I'd get hit with containment wars I knew would wreck my economy with blockades.

I failed, but came very close, only Peru, Haiti, USCA, and Brazil were left. Although, they were all in my sphere.

Kicking the UK out of Canada took a lot longer than I thought it would, even when I colonized every inch in Canada available (beat the UK to the punch every time). I also colonized Pantogia before Chile and Argentina. It was a mad dash in the last 30 years to get as much as South America as possible, but I got hamstrung in an 8 year long Great War with UK/Spain/Sardinia/Russia/Belgium/Scandinavia. Germany pulled much of the weight in the fight and knocked out everyone but England like a champ (UK kept pulling in allies after Germany would beat one up).

I was personally stuck trying to take mainland England by using Ireland as a staging point. I had much better Army tech than them, but they had SHEER NUMBERS. It was basically a 7 year long game of cat and mouse where I would try to draw the Brits into pricy offensives (taking advantage of my 20 dig in cap). Eventually I got 500k or so of their army trapped on the Isle of Man, and another 1000k stuck in a 3 year long battle in Scotland, where I would continuously cycle armies into/out of the battle to keep them fresh and draw more of their army from Wessex into this one battle, planning on simply whittling them down ala Verdun. Unfortunately Japan got steamrolled in their Vietnam colonies. I was finally able to win when the UK agreed to a capitulation to Germany, taking them out of the war but essentially nuking the UK's manpower and making it very easy to take their home islands. I wasn't able to get a full dismantle (even though I could've given time, I was close to pushing Britain out of Vietnam and Romania was taking Britain's Africa colonies) but I settled on the rest of UK's American possessions and released Scotland and Wales (thereby removing British cores from all my territories).

Unfortunately all I could do after that was finish off Peru and Chile.

I also managed to assimilate a lot of SA.

Alright, I picked HOI 2 back up after reading an AAR called the Last Bastion of Freedom. Since it seemed interesting enough to invade three continents simultaneously, I've stayed out of the war in Europe (I'm US. Was going to be Brazil, but I didn't think I'd stand a chance against a Germany with 1000 IC, and a Nationalist Spain with 400 IC. Japan freed China, so they have like 200 IC. Italy..... No. Mussolini disgraced Italians everywhere with his pitiful IC of 120.), and everything's gone to hell. Australia and New Zealand are about to capitulate, as a major Japanese invasion is underway. The United Kingdom has only a few islands in the Pacific left. Free France has only their part of Guyana left. The Dominican Republic declared war on me and Haiti. And the Soviet Union had the Bitter Peace, and are contending with Siberia and Kazakhstan for what's left of the region. So, basically, the AI killed everyone and I'm guessing either itching to invade me or the Soviets. I predict either a Nazi/Japanese regime in 'Murica, or Canada nukes Berlin, thereby killing Hitler and having a world-wide uprising.

Here is a fun little story.

I the duke of Achaia, am a really fertile bastard and have 5 children. I bethored him to the duchess of Crimea. Then when he became 16 I gave him the county of Monemvasia and waitted for the bitch to become of age. When she did he married an other dude!!!.

Then a series of unfortunate events happened. Her father 'tripped and fell' off the stairs and fall right up to her husband. Then 'she offered' my son to marry him. What are the chances of that?

How am I going to get these territories into the Kingdom?

Your son will inherit them when she dies.
Then, when you die, your son will inherit your kingdom too.
Or you can die first.
They will remain in France until the territories move to your heir.

Alternatively, plot with her to become independent or wait for her to declare independence then intervene on her behalf and beat the french monarch, then demand she become your vassal.
(She SHOULD agree if you have good relations with her, which is basically guarantee'd because of the marriage coupled with you intervening on her behalf for independence.)
As a bonus to this method, if you sufficiently wreck the king of frances shit well enough, dukes and counts will start declaring independence from him all over the place, since the king no longer has the armies to prevent them, and has just demonstrated he clearly sucks, allowing you to vassalize them too.
The inheritance method meanwhile allows you to focus your military expansionism elsewhere while confident that the french territories will eventually pass to you. I'm a big fan of militarily invading the Islamic lands and using marriage to expand at home (Unless you get an Invasion casus belli, then USE IT. ITS AWESOME.)





For CK II, i'm going to tell you all about an absolutely great person around the 1066 start for ANY UK campaign.
Look for the welsh Seissyll family (They have claims on BOTH welsh duchies.)
There is one female, two male, children.
Marry the female when she comes of age (Around 1071.) You now have a kingdom for your wife, and thus your first son. Congratulations. (Wales is absolutely terrible at defending itself, especially if you start in the south.)
I'm a fan of summarily executing the shit out of the male seissyl children (After you produce an heir.) to make the inheritance line good, and your wife will practically ALWAYS retaliate for the murder of her brothers by assassinating you. If she doesn't, go for broke and start murdering everyone you can. (I try and murder a lot of the Britanny dukes family, around this time their line is thin. You can whittle them down to one female heir for your son to marry.)
BAM.
You are now your son. Kill your mother.
You are the 0 year old king of wales. (Normally I actually wait until the heir is about 10, but it's possible at 0.)


If you managed to whittle down britanny to a single female duke, marry them, rinse, repeat.
I'm a fan of doing this as one of the Irish dukes while using fabricate claims on Ireland to slowly but surely bring it all under heel. (It happens incredibly quickly due to the small size of Irish duchies allowing each claim to yield 2 or even 3 provinces.)

Once you are Wales, Britanny and Ireland, deal with the English menace.
(Cornwall is counted as wales. Claim it while fabricating claims or marrying English duchesses.)
At this point (Once you own England, Ireland and Wales), the British Empire should trigger. Subjugate scotland.

OR give the child a title in your land.
They will remain loyal to whichever title is highest, and if both are equally high, whichever title came first.
Try and make the kid a duke in YOUR kingdom first.
Or make your brother a duke in your kingdom and hope your brother dies before the duchess dies.
...
Or do what i'd do and make SURE he dies first.
