It is though. I like it, it's just a tedious, terrible game in its mechanics.

It's nice that you think that but the only game play is picking up items and sometimes using them.
The rest is walking. That's it.
If it didn't have such a huge fanbase and reputation no one would play that shit.
And when I say ''use'' I mean ''use'', there's no context for use.
Oh and the design is just objectively bad there is no explanation for anything, but please feel free to try and spin that off as good. So mysterious and unique!

those are the subjective reasons, and i like them tooChopo Rarru wrote:I found the atmosphere and dark undertones reason enough to play the game.
I don't think it's possible to simplify Yume Nikki.Chopo Rarru wrote:Also, Super Mario Bros. can be construed as nothing but running to the right and jumping, yet it is considered a great game. I think that you are trying to simplify Yumi Nikki just for the sake of argument.

because don't get me wrong, i enjoyed it. i won't play it again, because it's more of an experience than a game, but the first time sure was interesting.
but the objective parts of the game - the mechanics and gameplay etc are just bad.

Any advice for anything that might possibly spook me? Send a shiver? Because nothing ever really has.
You may want to try LSD: Dream Emulator. It's not so much an "in your face" horror game like Amnesia; rather, it may not even be considered a horror game per se, but it has many disturbing qualities. It has been described as having the affect of bringing out a slow, creeping unease that is hard for the player to pin down—I guess uncanny is the word I'm looking for—that eventually builds into paranoia. When it comes to actually playing it though, emulating it may pose a bit of a problem. I think you'll need a specific PlayStationOne emulator just to get it to work, but it's well worth it if you are into this kind of thing. (It was not released outside of Japan but is fully playable without any knowledge of Japanese).

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

Read about it on cracked. If the grey bastard grabs you, you die in real life 8P
Meh. Might try it some time. For me, the worst part of the Slender game is not being grabbed, it's the turning around to check where he is and the fucker teleports right up to you. I rape my shift key when I play Slender. Also thinking of downloading SCP Containment Breach, as the thing I enjoy the most about Slender is attempting to lose the bastard.

After the sixth page, he will ALWAYS be behind you. So check the bathrooms as early as you can.

I downloaded it onto my new laptop two days ago and I'll admit the walking gets annoying (hooray for hyperspeed glitch), as well as general lack of other stuff to do besides adventure around.
The game's still very much a stimulating experience. Hope Kikiyama can give us something new soon, though.
