Varies. Some armored regiments, lacking infantry, are only a few hundred. Then there's sort of the "generic" Cadian regiment which seems to be around ten thousand, Hyrkans (from Gaunt's Ghosts) being 1,000 per regiment and the intended size of the three Tanith regiments being 2000 each, and Krieg siege regiments being several hundred thousand or so.

Kriegers seem huge mostly because sieges and attrition wars need major manpower, and one regiment is easier than several. So yeah, it varies very much based on specialization, planetary military tradition, resources available, etc.

thats what i thought. since regiments IRL are kinda small, 10,000 seems a pretty good generic size. i'd also figure a planet's Tithe Grade would judge the size. Kreigers i understand being LOLHUEG.

Congrats. You just created flying Orks. Aren't you proud of yourself?

Apparently according to the 40k wiki and parts of the lexicanum, Hive fleet Leviathan, the largest one so far, which had Kraken and Behemoth act as scouting forces for its self, might just be the opening wave of an even larger Tyranid hive fleet which is meant to arrive in imperial territory at the end of the first century of the 42nd millennium.

So, if that is true then the imperium is doomed. But it would make for a glorious last stand.

LSD flying Orks must become a unit, because then I'd totally damn the money and get into warhammer.

IIRC one of the rolled behaviors for madboyz used to feature them beliving they could fly at which point they could move as if they had jump packs.

But thats a half remembered fact from rogue trader/ 2nd edt so it could be bollocks.

I mean unlimited access. The article mentions nothing about the Mechanicus being unable to create them easily, so I'd assume they could at least make enough for a certain amount of elite troops.

The difficulty with that is how the Admech likes to build things.

They apparently haven't yet, which I think means they aren't exactly likely to.

If lasguns and Leman Russes can be mass-produced, I'm sure knight suits can. TBH if they still knew how to make Titans they could probably do that as well, but IIRC a lot of the knowledge is fading.

"Can" is different from "will". The Mechanicus treats big projects like building Titans as a religious action, since unlike Leman Russes and such, the Titan Legions are entirely under their control. So they take all the time they want building it so as to avoid angering its machine spirit.

God The Mechanicus are so annoying they are holding the Imperium back from becoming what it once was. They have the STC for the baneblade sitting on Mars but they won't let any other forge world have it. The Imperium could be using baneblades instead of Leman Russes but noooooo The Mechanicus can't be bothered to give up this "holy" information. They have ton's of STC's sitting in there vaults but they won't let any one have them.

Because the Imperium does not control the Mechanicus. They are allied, distinct empires from two entirely separate cultures of humanity. Would you give up all your secrets simply because you are closely allied with someone? Especially a fanatical anti-innovation theocratic state like the Imperium?

Of course not. They've already been burned by portions of the Imperium and the empire of Mars turning traitor. They obviously haven't forgotten that just yet.

Much the same could be said of any Imperial force. "Religious crap" is precisely why they're in the abysmal situation that they're all in the first place.

their paranoid as hell for a good reason.
an STC is srsbsns, expecially when the chance of finding one becomes slimer each year. i doubt the Techpriests of Mars would be so willy-nilly on such a deadly piece of equipment. they might hoard, yes, but it's for legit reasons
