It takes Grimdark and drives it off the cliff. Like, Age of Strife level grimdark.
Needs more Orks.

And you touch the distant beaches with tales of brave Ulysses. . .Farnhamia wrote:You're getting a little too fond of the jerkoff motions.

I much prefer the idea of the other galaxies being overrun with massive Ork WAAAGHs that are driving the Tyranid hive fleets to the Milky Way.

I'd imagine the 'Nids have eaten all those tasty Orks.

The two have already been going at it pretty seriously in here, too.

Except Orks get stronger with each battle. They get bigger, stronger, tougher, smarter. They adapt just as the Tyranids do. But more importantly, they also reproduce in extreme numbers. There is old fluff that states that Orks inhabit other galaxies. If the War on Octarius is anything to go by, the Orks are more than capable of holding their own against the Tyranids, and possibly even winning. Now if the Orks on Octarius have Grots the size of men, Boyz the size of Nobs, Nobs the size of Warbosses, and Warbosses the size of large tanks, imagine what galaxies of Orks who have nothing to fight but Tyranids would be like. Gargantuan, unstoppable juggernauts. I think the Tyranids are coming to the Milky Way in the hopes of escaping the Orks, are hoping to consume enough matter to batter off the Ork onslaught, are attracted to the Imperium, or are hoping occupying the Ork birthplace will do something.

It does depend, however, if that old fluff is still valid.
From the newer fluff that the 'Nid fleets are bearing down on the galaxy, I'd actually hazard it isn't valid any more. The 'Nids have been portrayed as extra-Galatic in the more recent fluff, but the Orks very much haven't. They are said to be one main by-products of the Old Ones vs the C'Tan/Necrontyr, which was something that was definitely located in our galaxy. I'd go as far as to say that the idea that there are Orks outside of "our" Galaxy is long dead and gone. But the 'Nids... they're still extra-Galatic, and they're coming in hard and will come in much, much more harder.
And, shit, I imagine you've read what a 'Nid invasion of a planet is like? That is far, far beyond the Orks to resist.
