And now, Balk Presents, my summary of a drunken play-through of AC5. Prepare your mind. no seriously, prepare it. this is what happens when you dont care and say fuck it.

AC5 was a game that back then i have been waiting for YEARS since AC4.

now all those years go by and now i am reduced to playing this game with a battle of jager in one hand and a controller in the other. Game is just as fun, when the dialogue becomes hilarious if you're drunk. Oddly enough, i don't remember crashing until the fucking 2nd to last mission where you fly into the tunnel and that dude was like "GUYS! THEIR RUINING MY PLANS FOR ANNIHILATION AND SHIT!" Its that guys fault for getting killed by one of his own dudes by kamakazing himself.

Now i get the whole "Anti war" bullshit that the main heros tend to gripe about, but one thing always pokes in my mind, why the hell did you sign up for Osean air force in the first place if all your going to be is some Hippie at the stick of what? a 40 million dollar aircraft that is DESIGNED to kill?

Seriously, and i get the fact that "Oh, we must become this demon legend to end the war." Despite there is already someone else that can wipe the floor with you (Blaze included) and he took on a laser equiped plane plus burst missiles and a NUCLEAR MISSILE and won.

Razgriz my ass. but anyway, i also noticed how much this game has aged. don't get me wrong, its still looks good but compared to AC6 (or infinity, fuck you AH). and what really got me laughing is how grimm managed to be like "Did i do something wrong?" In that one cutscene.

Its funny because Pops and that other guy ALREADY KNEW what was going on. Pops was also my favorite character for some reason, this is in stark contrast to that fat bastard commander of the base. NO AMOUNT OF PT will get that guy back into shape. (Also that part when he kept pulling the trigger on his gun after he emptied the magazine and MISSED EVERY SHOT. WHO TRAINED YOU ON THAT SIDEARM!?)

In conclusion, after all these years, AC5 is still a fun game to play.

That scene when Razgriz squadron, alongside with Osean and Yuktobanian forces get together and start singing in unison.

Such feels.

I have never gotten the chance to play through all of AC5. The few times i did, i got to like mission 7 or 8 before i had to go do something else.

You sink at least 12 named warships, one being a nuclear aircraft carrier, the other an Iowa-class.

Along with the dozens of other nameless warships slaughtered by you.

Mobius literally breaks the back of the navy in a single battle.

Then you sing the Usean national anthem.

Literally superior in every respect.

Never understood why any military in ACVerse would wish to use an old Battleship in their navy.

More than likely with the fact they could invade North Point, the BB would have been a great asset to support any naval invasion, considering a 16 inch shell can easily decimate an entire football field.

Also,

I was just a child when the skrebbies fell from the sky. But I remember how they made Team Deathmatch to destroy them, and in turn, how Team Deathmatch brought war upon us. Team Deathmatch was an abstract idea, nothing more than that option on my starting menu. As a child, I only saw it as something that happened on some far away server...

Until the first day of the new update...

One day while bomb-karting my way to MVP, I looked into the blue skies above me.

A distant sound of thunder. In the blue skies far above me, contrails drew dazzling circles around in a lulzy furball. A rektening in the blue skies far away...

I could not tear my gaze away from them. A deafening roar, an then sharp silhouettes appeared as if to graze my wingtips as they streaked by me. The fighters playing a game of "Oh God don't kill me pls" as they climbed into the sky.

One skrebby fell out of the skies, spiralling and spewing failure to crash by the cape.

The same cape, where muh guntower was.

Now muh guntower lives in the memories of sorties past. The victor circled around to confirmed he took muh guntower. And as he flew off into the distance, I could hear a distant whisper in my ear.

"rip"

Ace Combat 5 Unsung War

Postby USNER » Sun Nov 23, 2014 7:21 am

While I respect the right to everyone's opinion, Wardog squadron's pacifism isn't as cut-and-dry or as unrealistic as it first sounds.
One theory is that Nagase was trying to become an astronaut (Due to her knowladge of the Arkbird), so she became a fighter pilot for traing (Which is Osea is like the U.S., is a requirement for Shuttle Pilots-15000 hours as a pilot at least)
Also, they were living in a time when Yuktobania and Osea were alies, so the possibility of the war was highly unlikely.
Before the war started, Nagase had seen her entire training flight wiped out.
In "Narrow Margin", they saw burned people in the waves, this would traumatize anyone.
In "Rendevouz", they had lost 2/3rds of the Osean Fleet.
In "Front Line", All the other squadrons, who the game mentions, are still rookies, are wiped out.
At this piont, they are actually pro-war.
In "Handful of Hope", the President told them that he is trying to end the war without it escalating further, only to be invading Yuktobania in Lit Fuse.
(Speeking of "Lit Fuse", this is the first mission where they are overtly pacifistic.)
In "Blind Spot" they are accused of bombing a college and killing civilians.
From this point on, Osean High Command starts treating them like a group of dancing monkies. (Since they are the most experianced squadron, they are sent on all the dificult missions partialy as a morale stunt)
Next up, is "Journy Home". (Do I even need to explain this one ?)
After that is "Fortress", in which case, they become slightly more pro-war, out of vingance for Chopper's death.
Which brings us to "Final Option", Where they are declaired trators and force to leave their homes, being chased by everyone they thought was their friend, after discovering the true cause of the war.
The Belkans started the war out of spite, and manipulated both countries to fight a war that was ment to be imposible to win.
In "White Bird Part II', the Arkbird, built as a symbol of peace, was hijacked by the Belkans and was going to be used to drop a nuclear bomb on a civilian target.
In "Sea of Chaos", you have Oseans fighting Oseans, Yuktobainans fighting Yuktobaninans, and finally, Oseans fighting Yuktobaninas.
All culminating with "ACES", and "Unsung War", Gunder Industries knows that they can't win, so they try to wipe out both Osea and Yuktobania with the V-2 on the SOLG.
Finaly, If it wasn't for the anti-war message, it would be another we're-the-good-guys-and-they-are-the-bad-guys-let's-kill-them. like Assault Horizon or CoD.
(If you disagree, that's fine. Just don't be a jerk about it :) )

The plausibility of the "only wants to be a fighter pilot in order to eventually be an astronaut" theory conflicts with another set of popular theories: that the Kei Nagase of Razgriz is related to (or - more plausibly, in my opinion - is) the Kei Nagase who served in the Usean "Scarface Squadron" during the Usean rebellion, along with the theory that either Kei Nagase Sr. or Kei Nagase Jr. (or in my own theory, simply Kei Nagase) eventually worked for Air Ixiom until her flight was attacked by Erusean fighters and subsequently rescued by Mobius One, inspiring her to become a fighter pilot (in my own theory, again becoming a fighter pilot).

My theory would normally be invalidated by the two Kei Nagases having different canonical birthdates (Scarface!Nagase in 1978, Razgriz!Nagase in 1987. However, there's the possibility that Razgriz!Nagase managed to forge her birth records to appear to be a young starry-eyed Osean national rather than a grizzled Usean war veteran.

Whatever the case, it's still possible that Nagase's eventual goal was to serve aboard the Arkbird or some other spacecraft, but it doesn't sound like she's a stranger to the brutality of war at all. This could all be coincidence, of course, but that's not nearly as fun :)

Nagasae would have to be pushing 40 to have been the same one that served in Scarface's squadron.

That's quite obviously not the case with AC5's Nagasae.

She'd actually be 32, since she was (at least according to Acepedia) born in 1978. There's only a 9-year difference between Scarface!Nagase and Razgriz!Nagase.

Said flight-attendant-turned-pilot (though she was apparently an actual pilot, which makes a bit more sense for an airliner hiring Usean aces as employees) is already lumped into Scarface!Nagase's Acepedia article (and I think it's either canon or at least semi-canon that they're the same person).

The flight attendant (actually pilot, iirc) was confirmed to be the same as AC2's Nagasae.

If we're going by wiki articles, then AC5 Nagasae and AC2 Nagasae have different birth years. :p

So was the M-16.
