Build an army and invade China. Be nice to the Austrians and be allies with them. Ignore the Aztecs.

I have no intention of going to war with anyone except Japan and possibly Rome in the foreseeable future. And maybe a few city-states. I want to play a mostly peaceful game this time around. And by that, I mean that I want to see how long it'll be before I get bored and nuke everyone else out of reality.

Dont be a hippie. I played a game as England, I was really really colonially expansionist and colonised like a dozen islands and made a lot of cities on the contentient. I made so much money and so much science from all my cities I easily triumphed over my warmongering enemies. Imperialism always wins for you.

Civ V is a major disappointment. Alot of the good stuff from Civ IV is gone, such as the multiple amount of leaders you can pick for one nation (Like, you can play as Lincoln and have war against Washington or Roosevelt), and the leaderheads, which were BAD-ASS is gone...

Although I do like the voices, the text was done horribly. They didn't know the translations of most of the lords or anything, and have Ramses II speak ARABIC... shouldn't he be speaking something CLOSER to Taneric (Ancient Egyptians) or Coptic?

A few turns later, Montezuma asked me to declare war on Austria. I said no, party because I have no interest in everyone hating me, party because I was still fighting Japan (I just won the war), and party because I would have had to spend dozens of turns shipping my troops over.

Anyways, I'm going isolationist. Oh, sure, there'll be the coup here, an anonymous donation to a needy nation, unit gifts. But it's all so I can protect my trading industry. From now on, I'm focusing on local North America, i.e. U.S., politics. Screw the rest of the world. As long as they send money my way so that I can finance my research and possibly alliances with city-states, they can go to hell.

You can, but they only work if you have soldiers in them. Anyways, I declared war on Rome to keep him from settling in my land.

Except I don't want the whole world to hate me. I happen to like making money. And besides, it's difficult. I've got to send ships up past Alaska and down the coast of China to get anywhere.
