You can't build the spaceship after you've won, for some idiotic reason.

Those sound great, but when are you expecting an expansion?

I found this out the hard way. I built like a tonne of spaceship parts, and couldn't assemble them.

Has anyone else been having the bug where the "Choose Production" button won't work? The game doesn't seem to let me build anything in a particular city, causing the game to become totally unplayable.

Does anyone know a workaround? Or a way to fix it permanently?

I'd like to see Sibr, Hungary and the Timurids. The Indus Valley civilisation would be good too.

What i'd really like to see is a Crusades (centered around the Levant, letting you play as a number of Crusader states, the Byzantines or the Saracen nations), Rise of Russia (play as Muscovy/Novgorod/Perm/Tver etc and try to unite all of Russia), Rise of the Ottomans (like the Mongol campaign, but you start as the Ottomans and rise in power by taking over the Anatolian beys, then advance into Europe, Asia and Africa, with the ultimate goal being to take Vienna, Marrakech and Kabul, WWI/WWII scenario in various theatres and a Mohamed's Conquests/Rise of Islam campaign. (Covert x amount of cities to Islam and conquer a number of specific cities)

I'm playing a game as Brazil right now at about the atomic era. I'm about on par power wise with Carthage and Siam, with Japan lagging behind. I recently brought America back from the dead in a war with Carthage, liberating one of their more useless cities Carthage gave up as a peace concession. Well, I'm the only civ who adopted the Freedom ideology. Carthage and Siam both adopted autocracy. Being the CS whores they are, they formed a world congress bloc, making it the world ideology.

Well, the vote for UN chair comes up. Siam (the current chair) is in the lead with 20 votes, with me in second with 18. I know that I can't win the vote, but I desperately want to dethrone them. I notice that America has their obligatory four votes. I'm not allies with America, but they're better than the other three civs. (Japan also adopted autocracy, while America took order.) And while we aren't allies, they'd probably back me in repealing the world ideology resolution, netting four votes. So I throw my 18 votes their way. I'm confidant they they'll vote for themselves, as I've never seen an AI vote for anyone but themselves.

So I vote and overwrite my save, since I'm at a good stopping point. When I end my turn, I see that Siam kept their position as wold congress chair. It turns out that America decided to vote for me. So not only did Siam keep their position, but I had the opportunity to take it, and I can't go back and change what I did. It doesn't matter much, as I plan on wiping Siam off the map anyway, but it's still frustrating.

I rarely have these kinds of issue with the world congress, so I usually just have them rig CS elections. I do have to admit that this situation has finally turned the late game into something other than a button clicking marathon.

I've said this before, but I prefer the late game to the early. Only reason I play early is so everyone can expand and get some decent politics going. Shit, I remember a game as Germany where I had absorbed most of the continent by the time I made contact with the other one. The defensive pacts I made with some of the countries there dragged me into some wars in which I did nothing because I had no interest in fighting them. The leaders of the countries I wasn't allied with were quite forgiving about it, and I ended up joining their political bloc and utterly wiping out the other.

Just finished a game as Korea, winning my first game on King difficulty! Siam and Morocco were by far the most influential civs in the game, almost nobody had a great army (though there was a war going on at any point in time), and I was somewhere in 4th/5th place focusing on science. Which was pretty difficult with all the World Congress nonsense Siam got through. Siam was dominant over 5 out of 7 remaining civs when I had my last spaceship part! Second overall science victory, as well. I don't really like science victories, as you need science as well as production (which I'm generally not too good at). My normal way of winning/playing is culture, but I still have to figure that out with the BNW changes. I think I understand now, time to test it some time. Also my happiness was between 0 and 10 for the entire game, until I somehow reached 24 20 turns before the end. Oh man, if only happiness wasn't a thing in Civ...

So Genghis declares war on me for no reason. I defeat his army in the field and am just outside his capital when I decide to offer a peace deal: Give me all your other cities and make peace with my allied city states. He accepts "graciously." Then, two turns later, I notice that his diplomatic setting is at "Friendly." I am able to make Open Borders with him, no strings attached. Then, two turns later, he asks if we want to make a Declaration of Friendship. This is four turns, mind you, after we were at war and I took all but one of his cities.

The crazy thing is that this exact scenario, with the only variation being the period of time before he makes the offer, has happened 3 times since I've had Civ 5. Twice on vanilla and now once on BNW.

Maybe being friendly to you would be, in the NPC's logic, a reason for you not to attack him and take his entire nation off the map.

Playing as the CSA, I just captured Washington in 10 turns in the Civil War scenario. It feels very good, and yet very bad at the same time. :P
