Middle schoolers are the worst. Kids that age are just terrible. No respect for authority and think they are the greatest. Not to mention how clique-y they are. At least in high school there is some respect for authority (there are those that love to push the envelope) and the onset of humbleness. There are way more groups and many are more accepting.

I think the moral here is that friendship is magic.
