There's nothing about other spartans in the After Dawn series, nor in any of the other videos about them. They ARE mentioned in the last episode, and they appear in that video, but other than that....

I think the Chief is the only one who makes an appearance and is a constant character.

I know what you mean. The war with the Insurrectionists are talked about in a few books, and the games focused on the Human-Covenant War. But there wasn't much (except the book "Contact: Harvest" that talked about the beginnings of the war.
