That helmet is pretty cool looking.

The only thing about the new marines that bugs me is the helmet, other than that they are decent imo.

Perhaps because it makes old campaigners like me more interested in the multiplayer?

Perhaps they took the idea from RvB, who gave the multiplayer a story itself?

Maybe it was simply for "shits and giggles"?

It doesn't matter much to me; it just makes the multiplayer look all the more appetizing.

No, it restricts it and forces rules upon them, like removing Elites. And the RvB story was better than the easy 'lol it's a sim'. I also laughed at what they did with the legendary symbol.

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

YOU LAUGHED???? And here I had you pegged for a stoic.

The ability to play as Elites was a fun little gimmick, but playing as an Elite didn't change the gameplay mechanics. It was just an extra character.

Looking good so far. I'm a big fan of the Halo series and while I was sad to see Bungie move on, I think 343 can do some great things with this franchise and am open to Halo 4 as the next installment in this great series. Earlier today I saw some screencap images from a working Halo 4 model that showcases a very interesting aesthetic addition to multiplayer modes: the "infected" in Infection modes will actually look like infected. What I mean by that is that they are Spartan IV's infected by the Flood. No, the Flood will not be in Halo 4, but I think it's a very nice addition to the Infection mode that will add a bit more depth to the game.

I'm pissed because I'm sick of how people constantly beg for a sequel and want an idea to be milked. Halo is not just a game. It is a large, expansive, detailed universe that should be treated as an art, and should be carefully analyzed before making a terrible fucking move. They're not even bothering to examine other sci fi franchises and look at what made them decrease in qualify, and instead charge forward guns a blazing. All I see is a bunch of hyper fanboys on a sugar high over cheap eye-candy. The series needs real mystery, real thought, and it needs to actually pay some fucking attention and due research. While Prometheus was 'mehish', Scott hit the nail on the head when he didn't want to have an actual Xenomorph in the movie. Why? Because they're overdone. They're a trope now.

Rule No. 1- Do not reveal any great detail of the 'Forerunners', or the 'Ones who came before', doing so means they can be quantified. When the mind can quantify something, all mystery has been lost. They probably know that they fucked up with this, and this is probably why they're remaining secretive with the Precursors. Hopefully 343i is not truly braindead, and actually realizes how they fucked up with the Forerunners and uses little detail with the Precursors. Abstract is greater than detail, always.

Rule No. 2- Do not humanize the enemy, they are more frighting and interesting they less humanoid they are. Do not make them like something on Earth, and certainly not mammalian. Also, if you want instill some terror, use imagery. The reason why audiences used to be frightened by Xenomorphs was because of the rape-related theme and the sexual imagery. While they shouldn't necessarily use the sexual stuff, they could take a card out of mythology. The old Western Dragons of the mythos were a combination of all the creatures that terrified humans. I will however give kudos to most of the Forerunner design and the Prometheans, it's fucking fantastic. Well, all but the head. The skull idea is slightly a good idea, but otherwise the head is wrong, as it seems more like a break from the normal Forerunner design and not entirely logical from a military perspective.

Not so much as a rule, but a rather annoyed take. Stop re-designing the Elites every game. Sure, fine with the armor, but put some goddamned canon into their anatomy. Are they tall and erect or hunchbacks? Also, stop using filler. If you're going to add mystery to the game, change it from a shooter to action-adventure, where there are levels made entirely up of surviving the environment instead of killing 'filler'. Halo Reach actually did a semi-good job at making the Grunts dangerous, they would also have been dangerous if it were not so easy to dispose of them with one or two shots. Not only would a real military not send out Grunts with plasma pistols (which are shit weapons unless fighting a vehicle or fighting a shielded enemy), or have them be actual sidearms. A real military would give them semi-powerful weapons and have the grunts only use the pistol if the enemy was shielded, then immediately swap to a heavier gun to bleed their health. Either beef the grunts or lower their numbers, as they aren't dangerous and are just filler. You might as well be shooting exploding barrels. They could also simply change their script as to make them permanently grenade-happy, as that's the only way a grunt is ever dangerous.

I appreciate the fact you took the time to either write that or copy and paste it,
but this, this is my thread, it's positive integrity matters to me, yours does not.
Yes, a reference, now go make your own Halo 4 thread if you're going to keep up like this.

I'm just waiting for the first commercial to come out, you know the game is coming out real soon when they have commercials running. Commercials for Assassin's Creed 3 have been becoming more often, so I'm expecting within a week for the first Halo 4 commercials to come out.

Speaking of Assassin's Creed this isn't really a question for Halo 4, but which Assassin's Creeds games should I play before I play 3. I've always been interested in the series, but never have played it. I still don't know why I haven't!

Since Forerunners are all pretty much dead Humans hold the mantle and the Precursors aren't yet done testing us with the Flood?

I think it has been confirmed the flood wont be in it, i remember reading something about the new infected MP skins for the infected players and it said the flood wont be in the sp campaign. If i can remember where i saw this ill post it.

Link for their cameo in MP I know its short but every other piece Ive looked up on this basically says the same thing.

edit: Better link
