Black Ops II: Thoughts, Opinions

Well. Call of Duty (in my opinion) has been ruined. Black Ops and MW3 were really successful, really fun games, but Black Ops 2 is going to suck. By now, we all have seen the trailer on youtube or TV. And from the looks of the trailer, it is Future Tech style game. It is robots and machines, how could they do this? It is too much like Halo! I mean, Halo is cool, but they can't fuse it with COD! They go from Cold War to somewhere around 2050? Jesus Christ... How could this happen?

Anyways, what is your opinion based on the Trailer?

I agree, they were doing good with staying along the lines of realism, but, future tech crap? They're reaching to far now.... I just hope the realize that they're screwing up...

I don't understand why they didn't just do an actual sequel to Black Ops, set in the 70s. It sure looked like it was heading that way... And these new trailers look like a bad joke.

I absolutely adored B.O 1. I am in love with the C.I.A/Conspiracy theme. So long as the C.I.A/Conspiracies are involved with B.O 2, I'll have no problem... Though, I am a bit dissapointed that they strayed into the future. I enjoyed the Cold War theme, and thought an early 2000 Afghanistan Conflict would be a great setting rather than a futuristic robot take over.

A bad attempt to compete with Battlefield 2143 that is coming out. And besides that, they need John Connor.

The robots aren't taking control, they're not even robots. They're remote controlled drones that have been 'hacked' in that most Hollywood of ways. It's all about sparking war between the US and China, just like 'hacking' the ACS was all about sparking war between the US and Russia in MW2.

I disagree. Ever since Finest Hour (the first COD), COD has based its games upon real things. So it felt more real, and intense. But when I play Halo, of course it pulls you in, but I don't fell as if I were there.

Anyway I don't ever care about the campaign I just play online or zombies on black ops or WaW. (Note haven't played MW 3 or 2, only spec ops)

HOLY FUCKIN' SHIT, SOMETHING ORIGINAL?!

Well, semi-original. Still is more original than Modern Whorefare 2.5. There might yet be hope for the franchise with Treyarch. I also like how it appears they'll be using an assualt rifle like the XM8 system. And the RTS parts might be interesting. I just hope that the modes aren't obvious copy-paste, like if the RTS mode is just an almost exact fucking copy of Battlestations.
I still prefer Treyarch over Infinity Ward however, as I heavily enjoyed the purchasing idea for attachments and 'cod points' so I don't have to get a lulzy amount of headshots just to get a fucking scope.
COD still is just a game to play when you're depressed and need an ego boost, since it is SO. GODDAMN. EASY.

The first modern warfare game (COD4) was good, but all the other ones were almost identical to each other, and this will probably similar, except that it will rip off games other than its self.

I think it will be OK. I'm a bit worried about it going into the realm of sci-fi (and hey, don't get me wrong, sci-fi is good). Then again, Halo mixes sci-fi with warfare pretty well (at least they did), so we shall see. I'm not going to deliver judgment on something I only have a vague idea of. I only do that with people's races.
