Chariots of Fire
The American Legion is a neo-fascist terrorist organization, bent on implementing Paulinist Sharia, and with a history of pogroms against organized labor and peace activists and of lynching those who dare resist or defend themselves against its aggression.

Pro: O'Reilly technical books, crew-length socks, Slide-O-Mix trombone lubricant, Reuben sandwiches
Anti: The eight-line signature limit, lift kits, cancelling Better Off Ted, Chicago Cubs

1984 and The Taking of Pelham 123 (the original one made in 1974. Not the bad 2009 remake)

A Streetcar Named Desire, fantastic movie, great actors, but it is a shame that Hollywood had to butcher it with a happy ending.

Apocalypse Now, Monty Python films, Taxi Driver and The Apartment.
Best classic films ever in my opinion!

EDIT: Most of my favourite films were made in and around the 90s.

Seven Samurai (for being innovative and epic), Gone With the Wind (for being innovative epic), or The Great Dictator (for being funny and having a speech that still makes me cry when I read it), for the true film-critic classics.

Monty Python's Life of Brian if we're letting our standards down.

A Bridge too Far

Michael Caine, Gene Hackman, Anthony Hopkins, Sean Connery, Dirk Bogarde, Laurence Olivier, Robert Redford, James Caan.

You don't get casts like that any more. Brilliant film and one of the best war films ever.

While the original King Kong will always hold a special place in my heart, I'll have to go with Citizen Kane as my all time favorite classic movie.
