100%? Since when are statues ever 100%? Quite frankly you can't tell much from the statue, but either way she looks pretty damn good IMO.

Well, in their world, they could make a statue within a couple of hours, so it might just have been done in her lifetime...

While I do agree that its an obvious set up for a pseudo-Zutara relationship(ie fire v water, energetic versus solitary, etc), I think you're reading far to much into it.

Isn't that what I was trying to say? That the set-up for it checks out, considering the idea was toyed with at some point, albeit fairly briefly (I'll give the opposition that), in the original series, which created a fairly large subdivision within the fan-base.

No, I mean there are features that are difficult to express in statues.

Actually, it could be done in a few seconds, you saw Toph's small Ba-Sing-Se in the sand when they were prepping for Sozin's comet. If an earthbending master did it, it would be quick. I think it'd be interesting if Toph or her daughter did it. It would probably be far more accurate.

No, I mean there are features that are difficult to express in statues.

Oh, then you're wrong. It is entirely possible to create a perfectly accurate statue, especially if you have a person to base it off of.

ikr (concering all the hate for Mai)! I thought Zuko and Mai were awesome and that almost anything other than Aang and Katara just wouldn't feel right, but it would still make a good story if something else had happened. Still, I know Aang had his whole life to find someone else, but if he didn't, we all know the Avatar Cycle would be pretty much done...in 3 avatars' time.

And I think I've just found my reason to come back to NS thanks to this thread.

Meh, I just didn't feel the romance between Zuko and Katara. I felt it would have been too much "slap slap kiss", which I never saw as a good basis for romance in fiction. Although, I will admit, it would open the path to Aang and Toph, which I always thought would be cute as fuck.

Imma gonna watch it, then wait until 1pm for an hour of ponies, then go over to a friends house for his birthday. And his girlfriend (mo' like f-buddy) is very promiscuous. But I don't plan on getting that close with her. She's tainted.

But yeah. Episode 3 is going to be so intense. Chi Blocking, chi blocking everywhere.

One theory that my friend and I came up with: Amon figures out a way to permanently block bending and uses it on Korra.

I doubt that will be true. The only permanent blocking we've seen is via spiritbending, and Amon doesn't seem very spiritual. And I'd hate his character design if he was.

I used to think they should've tried something like that, but I just feel like their personalities were to different. I can see one scenario in which it is cute and Aang is an awesome Mr. Mom, but in the other scenario, I just see Toph having no interest in Aang, like what was implied by her feelings/lack of feelings toward him in the show. I do feel like they could've turned Appa going missing into some relationship building between Toph and Aang.

Still, I think they should do some sort of mini-series (5 or so episodes) showing what Aang's time as Avatar between the end of The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, sort of like what Kevin Smith did with Chasing Dogma.

Soxastan wrote:But yeah. Episode 3 is going to be so intense. Chi Blocking, chi blocking everywhere.

Really? I always thought Toph cared for Aang, but sort of a close friendship in which she implemented tough love. I mean, she doesn't show much affection towards anybody, yet she obviously has personal connections to everyone.

They have the comics which establish canon between the series. Three of them, I think.
