Aang and Korra are very different people; it's unfair to compare the two because the two simply have radically different personalities. Plus, Korra may have even went through a form of PTSD, which many people will tell you if difficult to recover from. We're not just talking about growing up or maturing. We're talking about a freaking mental disorder!

Aang was an 11 or 12 year old told he was the Avatar, about to be taken away from the only family he had, ran and wound up frozen for 100 years.

Korra had everything. She wanted to be the Avatar, had all the training, had a family and does nothing but mope and bitch the second something goes wrong.

I've lost count of how many times she's just rest her characterization. And a three year time-skip where she's done it again? That's the last straw. She's never gonna change.

Problem: This world doesn't need saving.
Problem: The Airbenders have p. much vowed to do the avatar's job in her stead, after having been presented with the idea that this world doesn't really need an avatar anymore.
Problem: She's always been a kind of terrible avatar.

Yeah, I think this is fairly in line with her character, even with regards to Book 3. Idk what you're so upset about.
