After all, other spirits manage it just fine.

Yes, because the very spiritual Iroh would go into the physical world just to see his nephew... I feel like thats something he wouldn't do. but i'm sure he'd love to have tea with zuko in the spirit world. I could see zuko's spirit entering the spirit world though. He is surely more spiritual now.

Surely he would like to visit his old tea shop ?
Although that probably was utterly destroyed in the riots.

If they leave it on a cliffhanger and continue it onto the last season that would be awesome.

So, this was an interesting episode.

The short and hilariously one-sided battle at the air temple aptly demonstrated why Captain Magma is greatest threat in Zaheer's team. He almost literally turned the entire temple into a volcano. Also, Zaheer confirmed for greatest airbender, having rediscovered the secret of weightlessness.

Bolin ex machnia. Apparently Lavabending is about to go the way of Lightening bending. :p

And...did P'Li just get killed off? Yep, wow, that was unexpected. RIP combustion lady.

On to the finale now.

edit: Finale was alright, final battle was suitably epic and reminiscent of the Aang/Ozai fight at the end of TLA. Captain Magma proved to be so hardcore that it took both Mako and Bolin working together to stop him, and he finished that fight in the most suitably hardcore way (though it's a shame that he didn't try to trap them first). It was kind of sad that it took Mako this long to try hitting Ming with lightening, especially since it was so effective at stopping her. That seemed like it should have happened earlier, what with it being the obvious course of action to combat someone that covers their body in water to fight.

Get ready, cause this is gonna be a long one:

MOST EPIC EPISODE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I take back every negative thought about Avatar Korra! I mean, forcing her into the Avatar State to kill her? I'd thought they'd forgotten about that! Genius! And I can't believe Zaheer learned to fly! And I absolutely LOVED the battle! quite reminiscent of Aang's battle with Phoenix King Ozai, and in fact, surpasses it's awesomeness and epicness (and stakes). in my opinion. Speaking of Aang, I LOVED how they made Jinora look like Aang! I mean, it was so cool, to see Aang again! And Bolin learning to lavabend? i'll admit, I saw that one coming. I also found it cool how Su's metalbending of the poison resembled waterbending, specifically healing. Although, Tonraq probably could have bent it out too, unless the one who initially bent it into her was a metalbender  Also, I loved how shocked they were when the Avatar state activated, and Korra just destroyed the place. I mean, they so underestimated the Avatar State. Even without the added power and knowledge of the past Avatars, it still kicked butt. I mean seriously, have they never heard the tales? Avatar Yanchen created huge gale-force winds. The Avatar before her lavabended (which we now know is earthbending) the lava out of multiple volcanoes. Avatar Kyoshi severed a whole peninsula from the mainland, and pushed it out to sea! Tell me the red lotus can easily overpower THAT. In conclusion, that season finale was TOTALLY worthy of being the 100th episode of Avatar.

-At last. The last two episodes showed the series' awesomeness that we have all seen and loved.

-The fight at the Northern Air Temple was awesome. The fight between Zaheer and Tenzin was pretty damn well designed, as the other ones of cource. I was moved by Tenzin's heroism towards the end of the fight, where he gradually started to hold his own against all Four of the Red Lotus and his determination to not give up.

-One thing that "bugged" me a little was how P'Li could hold her own during the fight at the top of Laghima's Peak. I mean, she was facing alone more than half a dozen experienced metalbenders (with the gear and al) plus Lin and Suyin. Anyway.
-I should notify that it was basically P'Li's death that made Zaheer "give up his earthly possessions" and gave him the final push ( ;) ) to be able to fly. Which, for the Avatarverse, is AMAZING by the way.

-I liked Zaheer's plan to eliminate once and for all the Avatar by provoking Korra to enter the Avatar State, but in the end they underestimated the whole matter. The hallucinations of Korra after the metalic poison was administered to her, when she began to "see" her old enemies in the faces of her new ones, was a nice touch.

-The final fight between Korra and Zaheer, well, at least touched the final fight of A:TLA between Aang and Ozai. Korra started out rampaging like a boss, chasing basically Zaheer through the landscape, but after all the poison that was in her combined with Zaheer's flight and defence started to take the best of her.
-In conclusion, it might had needed Korra's last ditch effort with that chain to bring down (literally) Zaheer, but it was Jinora's idea and effort that saved Korra from asphyxiation and death. So for me, Jinora saved the day.

-But, for the first time, hey, I give credits to that "crazy-hormonic-teenager" for the fight she put through. Something changed inside me about my view of Korra. And I know that some here might deride me for that (I'm looking at you, Ameri... :p ). But props to the girl anyways. I have a good feeling that at the end of the series, we might actually begin to like her. There I said it.

-By the way, metallic poison? Really? "Deus ex Machina" for our main heroine's rescue!

So... She can still go into the Avatar State.... But her being that strong shouldn't be possible(Or going into the Avatar State), she was only fighting with her own power when she fought Zaheer. So why couldn't she use that power to break out of the chains when she was on the mountain? Unless the connection somehow got rebuilt by her needing to live...

This is confusing.

Part 1. Let's do this:
Comic relief (Yin, Pabu, and Naga) to take a break from a serious episode? Check.
Uncomfortable villain romance subplot? Check.
Call me cynical, but if Tonraq says he can handle Zaheer, then the Rule of TV says the opposite will happen.
Platinum again? Makes sense, but sometimes it seems like a shortcut to explain why Korra can't escape with metalbending. Also, does platinum even makes good handcuffs in the real world?
Zaheer was tricking them. So much for being an honorable villain.
Tonraq to the rescue! Maybe my prediction was wrong?
Zaheer says he respects Air Nomad culture, yet lets Ghazan destroy the entire Northern Air Temple. Zaheer is either a liar, a hypocrite, or woefully unaware of his subordinates' actions.
Tonraq's down. My prediction remains correct.
Lin sacrifices herself to save someone she cares about. Certainly not familiar at all./sarcasm
And, to no one's surprise, Zaheer has achieved weightlessness. Also, I jut realized I'm becoming as critical as Ameri. Although, that may have more to do with me reading TV Tropes than reading Ameri's posts.
Bolin is a lavabender? So I guess any Tom, Dick, or Harry has the ability to lavabend.
Kai! It's about time you showed up! What were you even doing this whole time?
Northern Temple down. The Mechanist is sobbing in his grave right now.
No one listens to the kid. Even if the kid is a skilled airbender that just saved their lives.
Of course the bison came back. The bison seem loyal, and they can't fly forever, so they should all be returning to what used to be the Northern Air Temple.
Oh, so P'Li is dead? Glad that's cleared up.
Hello. My name is Korra. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

Maybe? It's one of the rarest metals on earth, but dense and good at not corroding.

Zaheer says he respects Air Nomad culture, yet lets Ghazan destroy the entire Northern Air Temple. Zaheer is either a liar, a hypocrite, or woefully unaware of his subordinates' actions.

I'd say willing to see things through whatever the cost

Bolin is a lavabender? So I guess any Tom, Dick, or Harry has the ability to lavabend.

Unlikely, lavabending will still be pretty rare in all likelihood. It's just something to bring Bolin into line with the rest of the team.

On a technical level, probably. The big obstacle in the real world would be that Sato has already used the entire world's supply of platinum and then some to build his mechs. While gold would probably be just as pure and probably quite a bit cheaper (in the real world, platinum prices tend to vary between cheaper than gold and twice the value of gold), platinum is less malleable.

Jaslandia wrote:

I was rather hoping they'd go into that a bit more. Clearly Bolin is of firebending and earthbending heritage, so it'd be cool if that's why he can do it.
