I like the Pokemon games and watched the anime until the 3rd gen when I was younger.

Though looking back- those series weren't very good. Well, at least the games are awesome.

I've only finished Pokemon White 2 for 3DS and played a handful of Ruby Red for the Gameboy Advance. I get the feeling I'm missing out but I dunno which games to get next...

White 2 is for the DS...

Well, there are a lot of main series games: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, Leaf Green, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Black, White, Black 2, White 2, X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire. You can jump into any of them really, as long as you have the systems for them.(I recommend: Platinum, Soul Silver, Y, or Omega Ruby)

Due to the plethora of mechanic changes from Gen III to Gen IV, (and DPP's awesomeness) you'll probably want to pick up a copy of Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum. I'm a personal fan of Pearl, but the specific one doesn't really matter.

The giant yarn ball messes me up damn near every time, but in unlimited I can get up into the eight/nine hundreds and get the really fancy cuppycakethings.

I could do perfectly until the giant ball of yarn. I have never been able to do that one.

Used to watch them too. Honestly, art style seemed to change in late Johto/early Hoenn, but Gen Three just became sour for me when they changed the voice actors.

Also just going to say, my favorite Pokemon games are actually Colosseum, despite the limit on the Pokemon, and Snap. Maybe the Stadium ones. I enjoy the main games too but I just don't enjoy replaying them as much I do the others.

The giant ball is only 50 points anyway, so play through lower levels to open unlimited and tap away.

I actually really liked Orange Islands but I can understand why so many people disliked it. For me it felt like a bunch of the filler episodes from Indigo and I loved them but others seem more critical, understandably, of filler episodes.

Mauville is awesome. However one thing that stilled bothered me since I played Gen III was the lack of diversity in the town music.
But Mauville has the same music as Rustboro. In Gen III I considered Rustboro to be the "Big City", sharing the same role as Jubilee in Sinnoh, Goldenrod in Johto and Castelia in Unova. Now in the remakes Mauville is bigger and better and is even twined with Lumiose but the music is tiring.

Slateport's theme is great.
