I've never liked it. It's just too slow, and that quad weakness to Ice just kills it.

I'm more of an offensive battler. It is true that you have to keep it away from ice, but the ground type cancels out the flying type weakness and it's immune to electric.

In my opinion one of the most overpowered type combos is water/ground as electric types are generally used to combat water, along with somewhat varied movepools, and swampert is cool, though not as cool as mupkip. The two Dark/Ghost have limited move sets and OK stats, and IMO their main use is hacking with wonder guard.

Sableye's stats are terrible, but Prankster makes him awesome. Or at least viable. He also gets Foul Play to negate his less than stellar attack stat if you don't wish to be taunt bait.

I agree with the water/ground assessment (maybe "overpowered" is too strong). It wouldn't be so bad if grass wasn't such an uncommon attack type (probably because it's not a part of any of the high coverage combos). I would also point to Gastrodon and Unaware Quagsire for water/ground goodness.

I don't think Ghost will ever be paired with Steel, but who knows? I once made a fan-Pokémon that was Ghost/Steel. It was based on the Tsukumogami, like Banette, but instead of being a doll that came to life, it was an action figure, specifically a super sentai robot. It was pretty cool. :p
